ach, the problem here is a lack of knowledge of Windows Mobile's video support on my part. We moved our video formats to the VC-1 based Windows Media codecs, which produce better quality for that bitrate in our experience, not realizing that Windows Mobile doesn't support that codec and (unlike windows media player on the desktop) doesn't seem to download new codecs when required.

I'll file a bug on this, perhaps we can add a Windows Mobile specific video output to our system.

I'm not a developer, so correct me if I'm wrong:

Isn't the video playback based on Silverlight? Or is Silverlight just a "shell" that uses external codecs and stuff? If not, why not base all the playback on Silverlight, and embed Silverlight in Windows Mobile 6.x (simple talk) Wink
