Thanks for the Absolute Beginner Series!

I just wanted to thank all parties involved, particularly Mr. Tabor and Channel 9 for making these wonderful series available. I'm through C# and starting HTML & CSS and I've been very pleased with the quality and availability of the material. I hope to see more of these in the future, especially a Metro style app series. A great addition would be a continuation for the nonabsolute beginner ; D Thanks guys and keep it up! All of your work is greatly appreciated.

Suggestion for channel9 about properties in uploaded VIDEOS ;)

Hello, I have a kind suggestion for you.

If you had a way of changing the names of the files before uploading, to include the name of the title before the subtitle topic at the beginning of the files and add media detailed properties to every video you upload, you'd be helping another windows product to perform better from user perspective, in this case, the windows media player, that has a very poor indexing interface for video even when its great at organizing music libraries.

I know I can choose to save the videos on specific folders and create its own playlist, and I do, but that takes time, and we-the-users are very thankful for every minute that Microsoft helps us save.

It would also be great if you could reset the encoding and compression just a tinny bit more so all videos of one series fit one DVD, so I can store it for later reference just in case I need to. I think this would save you bandwidth without reducing your traffic in a meaningful way.

It is just a suggestion.

The series on fundamentals are awesome by the way, @BobTabor is a great teacher/guide.

Suggestion: Thread.Fork()

Usage:

In a thread A, a "Fork()" button is present on every post that, when clicked, will construct a thread B that points to (summarizes) the target post. A new post will be created in thread A as a reply, summarizing the active discussion in B.

(okay, maybe Thread.Fork() isn't the right name...but new Thread() and pthread_create sound pretty lame)

Can anyone help me with the code for this application?

My aim is to display reports, created with crystal reports, on a webpage after users enter a date range(generated by a sql form). The data for the report is stored in a query in an Oracle database.

Note:

1. the report is expected to generate new data based on the date range entered or if the data in the tables, that were used to create the query, changes.

2. the report is activated by a button click on the web form.
