Hi All,
Anyone in the HigherEd space want to get together for discussions during TechEd?
@clinechas:Yes! I'm with the University of Vermont.
I'm game, SUNY Stony Brook University.
I'm currently at North Carolina State University, formerly at Stanford and University of Kansas. I'm going to look into doing a HigherEd birds of a feather if there's enough interest. Some of the things I've been working on the last several years is Identity Management, managed systems using SCCM and SCOM (with some help for non-Microsoft systems from Quest and Centrify tools), and Active Directory integration with other Kerberos Realms (and general LDAP madness). We're also looking at AD Federation Services for providing credentials to hosted system environments and other loosely tied University systems. What topics are important to you all?
@clinechas:I'm in! I'm most interested in ConfigMgr, patch management, App-V, and VDI to name a few.
I'm up for meeting again . . . Who's coordinating?
I'm going to suggest a 'Microsoft Technologies in Higher Ed' BoF so we can get space, etc. Unless we want to make the meetp more unoffical, which I'd also be happy to organize. Thoughts?
Go NCState . . .
Former Public Safety / Environmental Health And Hazardous Material Management Y.U.G.I. here . . .
More organized might be better . . .
Last year it was a last minute rush deal, but we / I had a great time though!
The more, the better, especially with the Hi-Ed conference delay. We would love to discuss ADFS for 365, SCCM 2012, App-V in the classroom vs. VMWare for VDI.
Win Hi-Ed didn't pan out this year for various reasons. I usually attend that conference and enjoy the small group and very focused setting. I suggest if we can have a formalized Hi-Ed Meetup / BoF at TechEd, that would be helpful.
I'm part of the team that plans the HiEd conference each year. It's looking like we will be having it sometime in October and we're hoping to get an official survey and notice out to the list soon.
I've also asked our MS counterparts if we could get a BoF session on the books. I'll keep this thread updated. If they can't, we'll see if we can pull something together, maybe even get a vendor to host us somewhere. I don't mind taking the task on.
Stay tuned.

@ whitwo: I haven't got much response yet about BoF sessions, so I'm glad to have another person asking! Let me know if you need any help.
@whitwo:Which one of the HiEd members are you? Can't figure out from your handle.
I just logged onto https://tena2013.eventpoint.com/Survey/BOF and submitted a proposal for a topic 'Evolving Role of Microsoft Technologies in Higher Education'.
Posting here to add another voice to the crowd of HigherEd attendees. Looking to participate in a BoF, etc.
Add another voice for higher ed BoF. I'm with The Ohio State University. Exchange and AD are my forte but my team and I also use SCOM and FOPE among other things.
So, what's the plan guys and gals? Yes to a meetup?
