Hi guys... this question bugged me since I subscribed to hotmail years ago. And I think this cronwd is the right one to answer this one!
Very often, when installing Microsoft products or going on one of the sites they own, I see a parameter that value is 1033 or a file name named 1033, directory name 1033. This number appears regularly! Does anybody know why ?

Well... I've answered my own question... sometimes, all you have to do is say it out loud and boom... the answer is right before you.
It's the local identifier for english - United States!
