Now that the real XAML is coming to pre-Longhorn platforms and now that I have seen the forms designer for the Xamlon beta, I have uninstalled Xamlon.
Unfortunately, the Xamlon icon shows up among the products of the Visual Studio "family" on the VS.Net splash screen. Any ideas about removing Xamlon from the splash?

Try running "devenv.exe /setup".

You may also want to report this to the Xamalon team as well.

This worked.
And as for contacting the Xamlon Team, a peek in their forums suggests how they respond to problems. I get the feeling that they have other concerns (like building a better designer and suddenly realizing that they are now competing directly with Microsoft).

rasx: Thanks for pointing this out, we've logged it as a bug. Feel free to contact me with any other bugs or feedback on the Forms Designer.
As far as competing with Microsoft, our engine is just a subset of Avalon. We aren't aiming to recreate Avalon completely. Our main goal is compatiblity so that way any applications written with our engine today run on Avalon in the future. The more XAML the better. -
Did I miss the Toolbox of Xamlon controls in Visual Studio or was I supposed to make my own? I was under the mistaken assumption that controls that don't look like Windows forms controls would jump out at me.
Perhaps I was being too generous when I said that Xamlon would "compete" with Avalon. Let's ask, What would Xamlon do that Avalon cannot do (besides travel through time)? -
Looks like there are some controls, but you have to add them manually:
