Introspecti​on - Getting started

Introspection is really interesting. A "new faster, engine for performing Reflection on .NET classes". It is readonly but I am only interested in reading whole assemblies at once.

My colleague is pulling is hair with this, there does not seem to be any real documentation. He is using an assembly shipped with fxCop called Microsoft.Cci.dll. It has loads of classes and no obvious place to start. We are trying to make it read from an assembly.

So has anyone used introspection? I'd just like a kick in the right direction.

I thought it was a part of the fxCop SDK, but you seem to be right, alltho this Microsoft.Cci library should still be usable.
I found an example here . I might find all I need to know there.

   Lightweight code generation feature which is introduced by .NET framework 2.0 can really speed up calling methods via reflection, but you still get hit by the performance implication when you wanna examine the assembly definition table, method definition table, or event definition table and other compile time metadata infomation.
