We have a domain "sample.mydomain.com" under windows server 2003 and we have an Exchange server for that domain. Now if we create a sub domain like "dev.sample.mydomain.com" is it possible to use the exchange server from the other domain ? Is active directory under the dev domain will have the extra tab that exchange add to active directory ?

Yes it is possible.
You need to run Exchange setup with the /domainprep switch in the new sub-domain, and you would also need to create a new Recipient Update Service for that new domain that points to a domain controller in the sub-domain -
When I add a user under the 'sample.mydomain.com' domain, a new page ask to create a mailbox for that user. I don't get that page under the child domain, did I miss something ?
Thanks. -

Yes I did. Now I have "Exchange Domain Servers" and "Exchange Enterprise Servers" group on the sub domain but on a user properties, the Exchange tabs are not there.
