Is it possible with Windows encrypted folders to share encrypted folders over a network when the original encryption owner is logged off their system?
So far, through testing, I've seen that a share to encrypted folder will allow another user to view and edit file contents of that folder if folder is mapped over the network using the credentials of the original folder owner. That is to say, you provide the username and password of the person that created the encrypted folder.
But if the owner is logged out, remote users cannot open for viewing or editing the encrypted files even when they supply the correct credentials.
I am wondering if there is some way to allow others access to those encrypted files even when the owner user is logged out of their system?
As an aside, if you map a drive to the computer with the encrypted folder using an alternate login (e.g. an different administrator account on the computer with the encrypted folder), you will be denied view or edit on those files (which is exactly what I want).
Thanks
