I'm thinking of getting an MSDN subscription... but if I got one it would be the day that Longhorn is released. This way I could get all the SKU's of Longhorn

check with the microsoft partner site, programs like ISV Empower make it very low cost to get started. -
I have MSDN Universal, but I don't see it in the list yet.

Doh, spoke too soon! Downloading now... go, go, go!

Now we just need that sql server 2005 beta 3! I've read several places that the Whidbey beta 2 and Sql 2005 beta 3 released would be synced and would work together.
-
VS Beta 2 installs SQL 2005 Express April CTP.
I'm fighting the Team Foundation server components right now. I'm not sure which Framework or SQL version it wants. I had hoped to have it all running on the same machine.

April cTP?? owww. I wanted my sql beta 3. I've been in that sql server beta since late 2003. Oh well, I'll setting for VS2005 beta 2.
-
I just hope a full version is available soon so I can run everything together.

Thanks figuerres, perhaps I will invest in this partnership program. Although the requirements do stipulate that I submit a link for, and maintain the contact information on, my company website as well as develop a resalable software package targeted at a current Microsoft operating system (I'm sure that Longhorn will be added to the list closer to RTM). I'll be able to swing the resalable software package as I currently have my first project in development, and the website I could put online closer to Longhorn's release.
Thanks for the info!

the website only has to show that your "serious", just a "contact" page and a "splash" page that say you are starting a new venture. the terms of the selling a package are that you "try" to bring it to market. and If you are targeting longhorn they will not have a problem there...
They know that small guys starting out are not all going to make it... just as long as your aiming for a goal they'll let you try for it.
I have a few things I am working on; I hope one of them pans out! -
I've got a few things I've got on the go as well, of course all are in the planning stages. Thanks for the advice and the information you've provided!
