  • Are there any RSS readers with tagging support?

GreatNews is a desktop based RSS reader and has a basic version of tags implemented.
This is the reader that I switched to recently (from RSS Bandit) because of RSS Bandit's inability to efficiently manage a feed list of greater than 100 blogs.

  • .Net Popularity

2 of my friends joined a financial consulting company in their IT department. They had graduated this year itself and had very little prior experience in programming and software development.
As their company deals with both J2EE and .Net, in a couple they were introduced to both of these platforms. When I asked them which one did you find better any why. Both of them had the same answer -- Let anyone rant to any degree about Microsoft but no one can beat them in terms of developing platforms and tools that increase productivity of developers. Giving the example of ASP.NET vs JSP they pointed out to the fact that how ASP.NET makes it so easy for the developer who needs to write the business logic to simply focus on the stuff he needs to implement rather than playing around with HTML.

  • Speech to Text

I don't think they would use Speech to Text for preparing the transcipts. Speech recognition is still not that mature a technology to understand the huge domain of grammar.
Bill Gates in the video interview said that in 2-5 years the magic threshold would be reached.

  • Y! Mail=1000MB, GMail=2425MB, Hotmail=2MB, Why So...?

Actually I received an email from the Hotmail Staff thatg by August end my Hotmail account would also be upgraded to 250MB 9right now it's 2MB). I guess the Hotmail people have brought about the upgradation process regionwise. India is probably towards the end of that queue!
Also have a look at the screenshots of the new Hotmail

  • Social Networking sites...are they of any use?

Well I am a member of many socail networking sites - Orkut, hi5, Friendster, Gazzag. All of these are quite similar in the feature set they expose and I am yet to understand the use of suhc sites. Recently I happened to reach by this artcile and I found that many of the arguments that I had against such sites - the author had listed the same. Comments on such sites?

  • A question regarding Windows XP Starter Edition in Hindi

It's great that Microsoft has understood the economics and released a product cheaper than the standard Windows XP version and that too in a language like Hindi. But I have heard that Windows XP Starter Edition in Hindi won't be available off the shelf to customers in India. In case this is true, would someone explain the reasons for it?

Dont you guys have anything better to share than just such lick-a$$ comments? All I see coming from MS India campus is "Wow!", "Great Work", "can you please send me the code?".

Unlike the mainstream forums in Channel 9 there are not a lot of posting or activities here at Channel9 India forums. But that doesn't stop you from starting discussions and topics aimed at critically analyzing Microsoft products. Just have alook at the type of discussions in Channel 9 forums and you will get an idea of the quality of (unbiased) discussions that go on in this forum.
Simply stating that such type of comments and topics are lame won't do. Try to suggest what can or needs to be done to better the Channl 9 India discussions.

  • Will Windows ever be finished?

Analyzing the question from a sociological point of view - the thing that won't allow stagnation is Consumerism. Consumerism which can be viewed as a by-product of industrialization, would never allow people to be content with a single product. The constant cycles are the very essence of consumerism.
