Announcing Python Tools for Visual Studio 1.1 Alpha
Nov 11, 2011 at 9:14 AMI know you can't reveal everything you are working on. But you like to hear feedback from developers about what they would like to see. I would like to see a version of Python that integrates with the WinRT, i.e. that can be used with Metro Style Apps.

Nov 10, 2011 at 7:04 AMThis is really cool! Awesome IDE for Python!
Can Python be used or will it be available for Metro Style Apps in Windows 8? Can it talk to the WinRT?

Using the Windows Runtime from C++
Sep 28, 2011 at 5:10 AM@KMNY_a_ha: Interesting point. I still think it creates a good market for developers, provided the whole Metro thing is successful, which I think it will be. But I can also see the point of view where it's better for developers to have open standards, cross-platform, re-use, more choices, etc. Of course it's not unique to MS to want to lock developers into a particular platform.
Using the Windows Runtime from C++
Sep 27, 2011 at 4:05 AMI see this as opening up a new market for C++ developers. There will be demand and developers will step up to meet that demand.
Companies for profit are not in the business to advance a standard open language or technology. They are in the business to make money. C++ happens to fill well into this particular model.
Look to the open source community for the advancement of open standards.
Welcome Golnaz to Channel 9
Sep 26, 2011 at 6:33 PMI'm impressed with how totally comfortable and relaxed Golnaz is in front of the camera. I think she is a great addition to the team. Good find C9!

Sep 25, 2011 at 6:53 PMYes, this is great stuff. I was hoping XAML would be available for GUI development with C++ and here it is! All native code, so it runs fast. This is exciting!
