CompGuy101: yes, I (Chris Wilson, IE platform architect) did say that passing Acid2 was not a priority for IE7: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2005/07/29/445242.aspx. However, that was IE7, and our standards work for IE8 is a bit more ambitious.
