Should they really be called <asp:cheapinputimpostersthatareabitchtostyle>?

Started looking into making our own control that inherited from asp:button but outputs html buttons but seems we have run aground pretty early al due to, drum roll please.... du.. du.. daaaah!!! IE.

Why is it that IE still cannot get the functionality of an html button (HTML 4.0 even at that) This effectively makes this one HTML element completely useless to developers.

Is the reason there is no "switch" attibute (like they nicely did in .NET 2 for labels?) to make an asp:button render out to a proper HTML button becuase of the inability still of the IE team to deliver functionality that can be used?

As the title says, can we get some interviews with the MacBU as we move closer to Mac Office 07/08? It seems that the MacBU is almost as secretive as Apple when it comes to showing stuff pre launch. Win Office 2007 has been out in the public for ages and while I understand the MacBU is not doing a public beta it would be nice to see what they are upto?

Is there any technical reason why the message box in Safari is not a rich text box? It's a pain in the butt to change browser at home just to post :( People who use MS products also use Mac OS by choice too.

Hey guys,
I bought a Nokia N91 yesterday with the hope to run the Channel9 videos on it as a I commute to work each day. I dropped one of them on it this morning and it would not play it. :( Does anybody out there know how I can convert them to a format to run on the N91? I am running Mac OS X at home but could also do the convert in XP under Parallels, but first choice would be on the Mac side so I don't have to launch XP. I am assuming MPEG4 would be the most likely to be compatible.

Also does anybody know when Flip for Mac is due to have a universal binary version released? Do you think because it is a QT plugin that I may then be able to export as MPEG4?

Title attribute on ASP.NET controls [Title attribute on ASP.NET controls]

How does one apply the "title" attribute to all the .NET controls? The HTML/XHTML spec says that it is available for most elements. information of the attibute is found here For one thing All links should havea title attribute for accesibilty and search engines etc... so why is it that when I add the attribute to an asp:linkbutton or any other controls is sees it as an invalid attribute. The asp:linkbutton gets rendered as an anchor tag. which according to the W3C, title is definitelyt available to it as seen here.

Has anybody extended the control to accomodate valid XHTML?

I am looking to use an image on our site which is a page about security for an ISP in Australia. On that page we have links to various pieces of software for anti-virus, anti-spyware (including the very nice Defender) and firewalls, I would like to be able to use a Windows logo/icon to place near the links for windows based appplications as well as the Mac logo next to the Macintosh based links.

I have scoured the Windows site and see no image that seems to fit this licensing that I would need for this. It is to really give our users a visual cue to the links that relate to their OS.

Reading the Apple license for use of the their logo I am happy that this use forfills their agreement.

Are the only logos available here and here? I have mocked up with the Windows logo called Windows logo - vertical with a size of 51x35px. It is still quite legible.

Any help would be a massive plus here.
