They're counting stats for W3Schools.com. Hardly surprising that IE usage among devs would be lower than the general population.

Yeah, since those stats are based on usage, I'd like to see the post Christmas numbers (when people actually start using their gifts) before making any conclusions.
But I won't be a party to the stat. My only Christmas computer purchase was a Windows 7 laptop for my dad.

Wasn't the pre-Christmas expansion of Surface sales into non-MS stores a last minute thing (they were originally going to do it sometime in the new year)? If so, I'm not surprised Best Buy would put the display in some random less desirable place in the store. The best locations were probably already spoken for in advance of the Christmas shopping season.
