Yikes, I guess not a lot of people are with me... <deep sigh/>
The comments of VistaWillShip seem like such a caricature to me that I have to seriously wonder if he is a Linux guy having fun illustrating aburdity through being absurd...
Honestly though, I'm not a mule who smuggles drugs across borders, but that doesn't mean that I have no reason to object to having a wireless endoscope embedded in my colon just so that the government can have warm fuzzies that I'm not breaking any laws.
There is a certain 'logic' that would ask why have any laws against illegal search and seizure, if you're innocent- what are you bellyaching about?
Can't I be innocent and maintain my privacy at the same time? Please?!

Overall, I love Microsoft products. I use them everyday. I could use OS X, I could use Linux, I prefer Microsoft. I pay for my software. But I am really sick of WGA and related anti-piracy crapware. This stuff inconveniences legitimate users and is barely a speed bump for pirates. I think it represents the first, last and only legitimate argument for using Linux on a desktop. WGA must die! Who's with me!

I think what we desperately need are some people in there who have a clue. We need an end to stupid software patents *cough* single click purchase *cough* So, you won't be the enemy. In fact its probably your moral duty to mankind to take the job...

I love the idea of being able to vote to lock a thread.
Also, I know not everyone sees the value of being able to ignore a poster when you can just ignore with your brain, but life is short and I already burn a lot of time on nine. Lets say there is a certain poster who clutters up a lot of otherwise decent threads- lets call him ShlitzMaltLiquorBoy- and I already know that I disagree with every single word this fellow niner types- if I can just have the site filter him for me, then I've just freed up some precious neurons that were about to go on strike anyway! I call that a value add to my favorite site! woohoo! party!
Please don't kill the coffeehouse, just give me the blessed power to ignore anyone who calls me a censor!

In Framework version 1.1 I thought I had a handle on best practices for representing data in the middle tier, but in 2.0 it seems that DataTables have been extended so that they are more powerful and lightweight, and on the other hand you can now inherit from generic collections and that is mighty convenient also. Either approach seems to have a lot of potential so could one of you guru architect types please refer me to some documentation that could provide a sense of 2.0 best practices for data representation in the middle tier? What I've come across so far seems to be fairly agnostic- is it just a matter of taste?
Thanks in Advance!!

P.S. My specific situation involves developing ASP.NET 2.0 applications with a distinct middle tier against SQL Server 2005. -
Hi,
I've been lurking on channel 9 for several months and I just love it. But I want to echo what others have said in that I beg you to give me the ability to ignore certain users.
I am an unapologetic fan of Microsoft. No company is perfect, but Microsoft is a lot closer than many and it seems to me that they make a sincere effort to provide worthwhile products and services. And if they can do that and make huge profits at the same time, good for them!! Why is that a grounds for disdain? But apparently some people disagree with my perspective pretty adamently. And frankly, I don't wanna debate it, I wanna ignore 'em!
I guess that's just the draconian Microsoft totalitarian in me talking, eh?
So I beg the Microsoft powers, please fast track an ignore fellow niner feature! Good fences make good neighbors! In fact, could you create an optional selectable autofilter for users who have liquid bread references in their nickname?
Thanks a bunch,
Keep up the stellar work!
