An I wish that such a package / update-manager is also used for commercial software. I really hat to have 10 different update routines for different application or even need to manually update stuff.

Interesting video about a interesting topic. I'm wondering how much a ASP.NET server application could benefit from such a technology. Because such a process runs for a long, long time and therefore even more costly optimizations might pay off. Especially because costly optimizations could run as background task without problems.

 

Anyway, very I hope will see more interesting research work in this area =)

Wow, great video, charles & erik. It was really exiting to see Spec#. I wonder if it will be integrated (fully/partly) into C#.

To Windows 3.0 in Vista. Well, theres a Windows 3.0-Like File-Dialog still in Vista in the font-management.

Goto "Control-Panel" -> "Apperance and Personalisation" -> "Fonts", right-click on the panel, choose "Install New Font".

Screens:

This "show-me-the-path-of-the-variable-setting" is REALLY cool. How many time you've debuged the same small function, because you got another value than expected. With this feature, you can quickly see it, without re-running the function. You've an overview how you landed at the state you're now in.

Sadly, I'm not really in the C++/native word, but in the Java / Managed World.
