They're building the SQL string on the server, not on the client, but the SQL string is being made out of gluing bits of text passed to the server via a GET parameter.

Consequently this is a classic case of a SQL injection.

Security issues aside, XP could live practically forever in a VM... We have many clients still nursing along XP vms for specific tasks that the software load in them performs....

We have actually been presented with a very similar situation for real. Geographically separate user community, varied needs by each. Tiresome dealings with technology adoptions only to have the rug removed from beneath our feet. (IE Silverlight). Annoying problems with craptacular web interfaces that are different enough from browser to browser to cause problems....

Then we learn about Cloud Paging... I can tell you we have written our last LOB application based solely on web technologies for its UI....

Every time I read a thread about VS2012 the first complaint people have is the CAPS nonsense... If you don't like that and are using the thing there are half a dozen ways to make that problem for you disappear. That you have to make that problem disappear is an issue I'll agree but its quite old now... As my parents used to say "You are sounding like a broken record"

Personally We switched all our major dev projects over to 2012 and have never looked back. Now if they could just fix some of the Intellisense oddities in the new version I will be a happy camper...

I noted and reported a specific scenario where Intellisense just gives up the ghost. Don't know if it might be affecting you. It seems that if the namespace arrangement of your project does not necessarily mirror the folder arrangement of the files themselves, Intellisense gets a bit wonky at least in those files that are in the folders where the namespace does not match...

Of course it compiles fine and did not have that issue in VS2010....

In my case the issue arises because initially the project was all in a flat namespace with all the files in a single place. As its grown some things were moved into folders to keep sanity. The namespace was kept flat just because of ease. Now however on those source components and classes in the affected files (an all their references and uses everywhere else) we have to make the namespace adjustments to mirror folder arrangement, to get Intellisense to work properly with these items...PITA....
