Ping 179: Xbox One, LeapMotion, Win 8 training, NFL & MS
Jun 04, 2013 at 2:39 AMProgramming for Kinect 2.0 looks like it would provide a better range of experiences.
I don't think I would use the Leap Motion on a Pc despite it looking cool as I can get too animate at times on the Pc and I don't want it randomly selection/moving/deleting stuff :/
Really looking forward to the Xbox One and I hope the NFL on Xbox comes to the UK!! But I fear it will not due to stupid exclusive deals here
boo
Ping 178: Xbox points, Microsoft Tattoos, Star Trek lands
May 22, 2013 at 5:38 AMNo tattoo's for me, that just ain't how I roll.
I can understand why MS introduced the points system as it gave a universal currency for buying items, a game in the US is the same cost as the UK, Australia, Japan etc
The bulk purchasing of points in blocks reduced the charges per transaction, so there are not 10 2% charges when you by 10 $0.99 games. It is one charge to get X amount of points that allow you to buy 10 games.
As a consumer however I can see the need for a real value amount instead of a strange translated value.
Star Trek WOOOT!
Ping 176: Windows Phone goes mainstream, Best ad ever, Facebook Beta app, MS exec makes a difference
May 07, 2013 at 5:16 AMErm Paul, that isn't quite what I said at all about backward compatibility :/
I love my Windows Phone etc but I try and avoid the arguments about which is better etc, no one will ever win those. It is all about personal preference and there is no right answer.
Porting Windows 8 to Windows Phone 8
May 07, 2013 at 1:33 AMThe reverse would be good also, though I assume you can infer the difference from this one.
Windows Phone 8: Wallet
May 07, 2013 at 1:32 AMSo far in the UK the wallet hasn't got much use, hopefully this will change.
Windows Phone 8: Tiles
May 07, 2013 at 1:31 AMAlways useful, could be doing with more tile sizes.
Windows Phone 8: Running Tracker
May 07, 2013 at 1:31 AMI assume this allows background GPS tracking, haven't tried it since WP7 and it didn't like it.
Windows Phone 8: Lock Screen Wallpaper
May 07, 2013 at 1:29 AMI look forward to this, might update my apps to support this feature.
I assume this will be for icon and full text support to replace the calendar text.
Windows Store Apps from A to Z
May 07, 2013 at 1:27 AMShould be good, you can never know too much.
Ping 175: Wp app for Droids, Forbes Wifi, Next Xbox, Bing Offers
May 01, 2013 at 6:06 AMI'm looking forward to news on the new Xbox and sure it would be good to have backwards compatibility but most folks who want that probably already have an Xbox 360 to play those games on.
I definitely think it will have a new Kinect, Bluray will be great a well as a larger friends list.
The illumiroom will be awesome but they have already mentioned that this is still WIP and won't be out with the new Xbox.
Another great marketing campaign kicks off for Windows Phone, very funny: http://blogs.windows.com/windows_phone/b/windowsphone/archive/2013/04/29/three-smartphones-and-a-wedding.aspx
