This is awesome. I am really liking the MVC paradigm. It just seems to make sense. Any chance that there will be a detailed "How its built" walkthrough of the Oxite code? I like the video on ASP.NET MVC Storefront Starter Kit My hope is that you would do one on Oxite and show some samples of how to extend the framework with a new feature, etc.

Great video. One thing that the OS can do to exhibit better manners is to revamp the way that focus changes among windows today. Today in Vista applications jump out and take window focus from others. THis is super annoying. I noticed when using a mac that this is done right on the Mac. Please look at the window manager focus problem and solve it with Windows 7. This would take windows to another level altogether!

Ray Ozzie is awesome and so is Microsoft 2.0! Windows Azure will be the next generation of Microsoft.

The key is to make getting on Azure super cheap (should be competitive with shared windows hosting, $25 a month), and allow it to scale to mega size. This is the way to get then next Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo, eBay, etc. to be developed on Azure.

This is great news. There is still work to be done with IE 8 though. I would get a new beta out with a bug report button similar to safari. This would allow some reporting mechanism for beta testers to report sites that are not working properly with IE8. MS then needs to work with the different sites( popular/important ones) to fix the issues to make sure there is minimal pain to move to IE 8.

One example is the dnc.org website that has a video section. The video uses silverlight and move networks player yet does not work with IE 8 even when the compatibility link is clicked. The move player works elsewhere so this should be easy...

I thought in Vista Graphics drivers run in User space. MS made the decision to take the slight performance hit to make the system more reliable is what I heard.

Most drivers belong in user space. The ones that need to be in the kernel should be signed anyway. IMHO anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding was that the signed driver requirement is for drivers that run in the Kernel (chipset, network, etc). I understood that any driver that run in User space (graphics on Vista, USB devices, etc) do not require being signed. Signing drivers on Kernel mode drivers should improve the quality of those drivers since companies will be more likely to test then release rather than do 2000 revisions of a driver to stabilize it.

I agree. Killing the video in the middle of a sentence is NG. Also if you are going to break up a video all parts should be posted at the same time. How am I going to sleep now without knowing how this video ends??? Seriously though, the videos should still be made available in full. I used to hate the short videos from the early days of channel 9. Each question was its own video. The long videos need to stay.

This is awesome. I love hearing from Brian. He has a great way of talking about a problem from a higher level and still giving a lot of the detail. I also love the fact that he doesn't start every sentence with "So..." That must have been difficult for him being around so many people that have adopted that annoying habit.

In any case I want more from Brian. You could spend a whole week with him and I would watch. Thanks Charles for a good video. Try to figure out the formula of what you did right on this video and repeat!
