Coffeehouse - Vista "upgrade" drops compliance checking, requires old OS to install

I suppose that it was wrong of me to say what I did. I have been increasingly angry and frustrated about the majority of the news concerning Vista lately. I have been very optimistic and enthusiastic about the OS and related technologies, but to hear negative
thing after negative thing about it, I let it out inappropriately. I don't mean to rag on you guys who make the great software, but the people who make the business and marketing choices. I will try to express my frustration in a different way from now on.

I suppose he might have offered information about the subject of the thread, had he not proffered indifference in responding to the concerns raised by dismissing them outright and then claiming that he will "quit the thread" after doing so. Although, I
will say that he at least opened his mouth to confront an obviously unpopular corporate decision. I don't see any other 'Softies sharing their opinions or trying to defend the decision, short of swiping at my comment.

Coffeehouse - Alex St. John - Surviving Vista

An interesting and informative presentation about casual content development for the new OS given by Alex St. John and Mike Sandige. Check out
www.gdctv.net for the video. I like where he razzes the MS guys for not giving the presentation themselves.

I liked Alex back when he wrote for Maximum PC magazine back in the day. Glad to see that he's been doing well. Don't like that WildTangent has spyware aspects to it, but I think it's been a positive development for the net in general.
