I'm a freelance writer. That is to say that I get paid to write about things I don't care about for slightly-above-slave wages that then get published to websites you've never heard of under an Alan Smithee-type name. As the Flintstone's can opener would say, "It's a living."Apart from that... hmm... I'm a big Detroit Tigers fan... US Army veteran... technically I'm a zombie (funny story behind that)... and I love Dr. Pepper. Also, I don't like talking about myself and I have a propensity to start paragraphs with the letter "A."

Also, good show.
Ping 92: Cut & Paste on Windows Phone, Kinect rocks, Team Coco, Halo reach wins
Feb 15, 2011 at 7:22 AMI understand that some people love Copy/Paste, but in the year-plus that I've had my Motorola Droid (Verizon needs WP7, dammit), I've used C/P twice.
That's it.
I understand the want for the feature, but in all honesty it's not a particularly vital thing.
As for Conan not being on Xbox LIVE... as a viewer of his show and a victim of Service Electric Internet (who caps me at a miserable 1Mbps, those swine), I can't say I hate the decision. It's hard enough to get through an episode of Inside Xbox without it buffering a dozen times.
Of course that probably doesn't affect most other people on XBL, but meh. The world revolves around me, as far as I care.

Feb 08, 2011 at 1:33 PM@dentaku: I do believe they use a WP7 emulator, though don't take my word to the bank or wherever the heck one takes another person's word.
Oh, and of course they (or in this case "she") likely use(s) some kind of desktop video capturing software. Think FRAPS or something along those lines.

Feb 08, 2011 at 1:39 AM@Laura10: So then you admit that Paul's junk talks to him? Most curious.

EDIT: Oh, yeah! The show -- totally forgot what happened after the cut to the "Turbaconstein" video. But I do wonder how long it'll be before Google actively takes steps to break any H.264 codec players in their browser updates... but mostly my mind is stuck on that cursed turkeymonster.
And the cook book? Sounds like Molecular Gastronomy, or as it's more commonly known "culinary mad science."

Jan 31, 2011 at 3:01 PMPaul's lack of football knowledge makes my soul ache... like, I feel physical pain where my soul should be. But apart from that, t'was another excellent show.
Ping 60: Allard & Bach, Netflix, Hohm score, Halo Beta
May 31, 2010 at 4:32 PMWhile you're always going to have your group who hate the idea of DRM *coughpiratescough*, I think the big issue people have with the current DRM is that it's so atrociously awful. Take, for example, Ubisoft and their DRM that more or less demands you be online at all times under penalty of death... or you can't play the game, whichever.
I'm all on board with DRM, so long as it isn't overly intrusive so... I'm alright with the Netflix/Microsoft deal.
Oh: 72, by the by.

). You, however, remain the life of the party.
Ping 59: Private Cloud strategy, Gadget predictions, Microsoft is the most social company, Free Robotics
May 24, 2010 at 8:21 PMSo, if Microsoft is the most "social" company... how come Laura barely uses her Twitter?
Ping 58: Gates & Cloud Computing, Bing for Mobile, Microsoft concept Phone
May 18, 2010 at 5:18 PMThat concept phone is some kind of slick. But I have to admit -- having a phone without visible borders would drive me a little batty.
And this episode proves the addage that you can never have too much of a good thing -- short show was still excellent, but, um... short.
