Coffeehouse - Hey scoble, kick Andy Kipman and get the msbuild team blogging again

Hee hee. Oddly, Scoble didn't forward this to me, but it did wind it's way around...

Yeah, we've been pretty slow on blog updates lately. We have been making edits to the Wiki though, including updates to the samples and such so they work properly with Beta 2.

Do expect more blogging activity from us as we emerge from our shell of getting MSBuild ready to ship and start planning our next release. There are a ton of interesting things in the works.

Coffeehouse - What sucks about multimedia on your PC?

I forgot this. I wish I had someplace on the tool bar the ability to have a small embedded media player so I could just forward, reverse, pause and play. Maybe even see the song number. That's it!! That would make my experience better.

You can actually do this today with Windows Media Player today! Right click on your task bar, go to Toolbars and pick Windows Media Player. When you minimize WMP now it'll go to a little slab in the task bar that you can use to control it. VERY handy!

Coffeehouse - What sucks about multimedia on your PC?

I'll bite. It's the simple things: selecting a different song to listen to is so painfully slow. It's the task I do probably 10-15 times a day (I'm not much of a playlist builder), and it takes so long to bring WMP up, get to the search bar, filter, and
then play the song. It's pure performance (the UI isn't so bad).

It's even worse when I want to see the list of songs I've purchased through Napster. Those are typically the one-off singles that are running through my head, and it takes an excrutiatingly long time to click to the Napster tab, hit their site, and list the
music I've purchased. There should be an easy way to do that!

Coffeehouse - Curious about Microsoft's Email Culture?

Reading it now. I'm curious, do any of you guys use (or even know) IRC? My company has used a private IRC channel for years as the main communication medium, and it works pretty fine, even more direct than e-mail.

Not IRC, but a ton of IM conversations. There's more than 120 people in my IM buddy list and it's used quite a bit to have conversations.
