On the other hand, I'd rather have "Microsoft's Flash" rather than "Adobe's Flash". In the former case, the code goes thru the SDL and is subject to regular patches and security reviews. I'd rather have that

My impression is that "Microsoft is" is more of a north american thing, while "Microsoft are" is more commonly used in the UK.
I use "<company> are" here just to annoy people
