One thing that you can do with the .Net MF that's not so easy with the Pi is when you're past the prototype stages you can take the core of a NetMf/Gadgeteer board and embed it into your own custom board.  Obviously this is not an advantage of just NetMF, but can be an advantage.

Another advantage of netMF over the Pi is the netMF modules can draw way less power, giving you better battery life.

Mono:  I'm really looking forward to see what comes of the current push to get the portable class libraries fully implemented in mono.  I've had mono running on the Pi but you are back to printf debugging.  It would be awesome to get remote debugging support from mono on a pi to VS on windows.

If you think about it, SideShow was the precursor of the notifications on the lock screen of Windows8/Phone8.  The idea was there, but the implementation was lacking.  Given the thin low power displays you can get these days it might have worked better.

Seems to work really well, and I can now watch C9 videos stright on my TV without out having to download them first, though you have to use the MP4 download link to play; WMV's don't seem to work and the in page HTML5 player does not seem to have a way to go full screen; still a big improvement!

Now to go and see how well some of the Win8 features work with this.

BTW, I'me typing this on a wireless keyboard, but it only seems to work for text input, you can't scroll the page with the cursor keys, and there is no mouse support, you have to move around with the XBox controller, which actually is not that bad of an experience.

In fact the higher I rate a move on first viewing, the less likely I am to watch it more than once.  Action/Explosions tend to help though Smiley

I suppose it's because the films I watch most often, I tend to dip in and out of while doing other stuff so have to be easy to drop into and also to walk away from, if that makes sense.
