Coffeehouse - Microsoft: Aggressive as H*ll

Getting attacked on all sides? Im sorry but who has the market share? Thats just a stupid remark. Linux zealots? No such thing those are just people who dont know how to run windows.

And you talk about these kids in their basements. You really think Bill Gates graduated from harvard? BS!

Anyways the whole computer industry as we know it evolved from those kids in the basement. There wouldn't be a mircrosoft without them!

The linux folks know whats really going on! They already know this isn't a david and goliath situation because they cant get the OS to work for everyone.

They cant get their os shipped with computers like Bill Gates did, they didnt have an alliance with giants and they just dont have the vison to change the world.

Coffeehouse - Why Microsoft should embrace Linux.

I dont think it is about the community. It is mainly about the architecture. The thing is windows is complicated but regular users dont care because it is packaged on every computer you could by for the past 14 years or something. That builds consumer
loyalty although somewhat forced.

Yea so the kernal is bloated, who cares, they still make money off of windows right. Come on what average computer user is going to switch to linux and be happy? None, because people are afraid of change and they personally care what is going on with the
computer. As long as the can surf, play solitare, write up a document and check email they will be fine.

Coffeehouse - The DaVinci Code...

I think this has gone way out of proportion.

People are trying to invalidate eachother's belief, that's just stupid. Look, christianity seeks to convert people to their religion because they feel that they are right in doing it, and that other people need to be converted.

To people with faith like that, the rest of us are damned or blind. What is that? Plain tripe is what that is. The truth is, (and I know this from experience) that most christians dont give a dang about the person sitting next to them. They are so consumed
with the clouds that they dont see the suffering in front of them.

Look, TDVC is a book, a movie, heck a phenomenon, but if people would step back and just believe in what they know to be true for themseleves and not try to push what they believe there would be a lot less problems in the world, especially with this peice of
fiction.

I find it disturbing that one person seems to feel better than the other because they dont believe in the same things. I dont advocate blind faith but I do advocate tolerance.

Tolerate Dan Brow for all his fault, and you will be a better person for it. Because life really is too short for BS like this.

Coffeehouse - Windows Vista Ultimate Edition - 500€ or 638.88$ or 339.87£

It doesnt make any sense to get all huffy and puffy on the price of vista. There are five versions so far so the prices could range in USD from $299 up to $800. Another thing is, do you guys really think people are just gonna buy vista while xp is still
a great OS.

Come on, developers can provide applications with the .Net 2.0 framework, meaning they could use tools like winfx to create richer applications

Soon, the price of xp would drop dramatically, and then in a few years as support is being phased out people will start to upgrade.
Regular people do not like change. They feel it as being scarry. Why do you thing there are so many users still with Win 98 SE? Becayse its a good OS for all its faults.

Thats how it would be with XP, people are forgeting that theres still XP out there and that consumers still want to use it. Vista is the future perfect, xp is the present perfect. All things being equal XP is gonna take a while before it stops getting supported.

Right now though, as my prices were, any guess is speculative, and as you know. When you assume......

Good Luck:)

Coffeehouse - Cuba decides to stop pirating Windows and goes with free Linux.

That really sounds interesting, but do the cubans have the know-how to properly implement the services. IMO, I believe that linux is a little bit more to get used to... I could be wrong, but maybe this will cause a major political change to the climate
surounding cuba.

Open souce and communism.... hmm very egalitarian of them.
