do you speak in the language you work?

me; as a database developer - i remember saying using sql terms.

one of my another manager asked me now- are you supposed to be today (morning) at different place?

I ended up saying- we had some changes in schedule, so we roll backed the previous statement and updated with new modifications and execution time.

WHAT?

I said, (rephrasing the sentence) - visiting time has changed so i am visiting this evening...

my manager was not blinking his eyes for a minute, and I had a *grin*

When I open the Local Area Connection Properties, I get below information message box, stating...

Message:

"Some of the controls on this property sheet are disabled because one or more network property sheets are already open. To use these controls, close all these property sheets and then reopen this one."

I get this message everytime. Is there any help on this?

VB2K8 and SQL2K8 Express edition - Installation help [VB2K8 and SQL2K8 Express edition - Installation help]

Hy;

Previously I have installed vb2k8 (without sp1) and sql2k5, both express edition. Now I was trying to install the sql2k8 express edition, and in the system check... it tells

- SQL Express 2005 Tools are installed, please uninstall for continuing SQL 2008 Express edition - FAILED
- Previous version of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 is installed, upgrade to VS 2008 SP 1. - FAILED

and SQL2K8 setup could not continue further.

I uninstalled sql2k5, and re-run the test... now, passed. I tried to download the SP 1 from here http://www.microsoft.com/express/download/, when that .exe file runs its tells "it is not compatible with Express edition".... so i uninstalled vb2k8 also.

I tried to re-run the test, now both items are passed. and SQL2k8 installed successfully.

Now, I can't install back vb2k8, it is asking for SP 1 version. But service pack says its not compatible... So how to install 2008 series of express tools or just vb2k8 for now? and where can I find the SP for Express edition 2008?

A document of 5 pages on A4 size containing two screen shots and remaining is explanation, when I printed the document on "Adobe PDF" and pdf document format is not same as word and content is not placed properly and it goes to 8 pages.

If I do the same from word to xps and xps to pdf... it works properly. But I can't print it directly to pdf.

postscript- Does anybody knows how to print to xps document on custom paper size? I have seen the property sheet and did not find other then predefined paper size. Even I do not know if it supports custom settings or not.

I just runned a scan with this recent which i got on microsoft and found safe.

I made a search on Google... but couldn't felt on any to buy one. Just looking for universal docking station which goes with any laptop easily and with more USB connectors ... (like 6 or 6+)

And anyone using the dock with two 17" monitor connected to it? so totally it makes 3 screens (1 from the laptop and another 2 from additional monitors) - I mean with 2 VGA connectors.

I not sure is this why because of 64-bit?

Yesterday I formatted 8GB Kingston pen-drive, it took more than 15+ minutes.... (normal format, not quick format). I formatted the same pen drive in XP(32bit), it just did in with 3 seconds. I repeated this step again in vista-64bit-HP; it again took more than 15 minutes....

No idea.

Finally got this toshiba... really nice and I am loving it.

And with the AV selection.... Norton is not my choice... kaspersky, heard a complaint from friend on "license key blocked" when update the AV definition and restart the system... McaFee, no idea... AGV... heard some good words....

?:confused:? to pick one; so which one will be better choice amongst all AVs?

/Edit: the lappy runs on vista home premium SP1 64bit, and not sure of the AV compatibility.

I am very exited about it, as it is my first international trip.

is this can be done?

say, \\<ip_address>\folder_name, i mapped it to drive letter Y:, every now and then this drive gets disconnected. there must me a way to get it connected all the time without losing the connection.

casuse-

actualy, I have a some file in c: drive, everyday at 7pm a batch file will be executed via scheduler to copy to Y: drive. some times it copies and some times it wont, and the file date and time will the previous one in Y: drive. I came to know this is happening due to drive getting disconnected (it shows red "x" mark in the icon, and sometime the Y: letter is not listed in, again I have to map them).

Windows updated poped up when downloading completed it was asking installation... I choosed the custom and saw what was listed...and it was IE8B2 (as followed)

Before it uninstalled the prev version and installation continued as usual and got completed. And now I have this...

Is there any way to get this IE6 (i guess) work properly, because now OE acting strange... and I can't download IE8 (comp policy.....:( ), and I don't have setup files for IE6.... :((. Pullllllleeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh help me.!

Just came to know about it...

One of my colleague's friend joined this company as Senior DBA. Cool. He said Teradata Database.....

I was like .... what? (it was confused "what", never heard it before)

made some quick google search and got this and customer's list depending on it. Nice. Even this tool has JDBC, ODBC and .NET data providers (here, no. 5)

So any niners around here through some their own experience on this?
