as it seems keepvault no longer has an option for unlimited storage. had just finished uploading about 90 Gigs from my homeserver when i went to see if there was an update to the software. i noticed that the page had changed so i looked to see what option there was to buy for their services. no more unlimited storage. i remember a post somewhere that had a questionare from microsoft asking about a $50/year unlimited online backup, i hope that is something more than just an idea. anyone else doing a online backup of their homeserver?

home server force replication [home server force replication]

one of my drives on my homeserver is going out. i did a "remove" only to find that not all the data had been replicated to the other drives. i can still get the data off of the drive but anyone from the homeserver group know how to force file replication?

on a side note, does anyone have a offsite backup setup? i paied for keepvault but it had not backed up all the data yet. still got several weeks before all the data is uploaded.

i like these new features. just hope at least the screen cap part makes it.
but i keep thinking how many people will sue to prevent these features from making it so they can keep their add-ons selling.

i was attempting to write a program that would use UPnP API in windows to set port forwarding in the home router for mIRC to get the DCC function to work. after sever times i got an authentication/impersonation error that i could not work out i gave up on it for now. but now my UPnP in vista no longer can see any UPnP devices on my network. the media center PC can still see everything. does anyone know how to reset the UPnP support in vista? turning off network discovery in the network center and turning it back on does not help.

does anyone remember the video of server 2008 showing how it can stop the access to non protected thumb drives and still allow access to thumbdrives that are protected? just loaded up a test system with the RTM of 2008 but i cant find that setting. i hope it wasnt removed, i have some people to annoy.

after i read that 2008 server went RTM i checked my licensing on the web and now have my 2008 server codes. cant wait for the software to show up.

it looks like myspace added a zune theme for the media player on the pages. i kind of wish it wasnt branded but it looks alot better then the original myspace one.

i don't know if i read about this a while ago it if i just thought it up. does anyone recall a PCI card that would have its drivers in flash ram on the card? like network drivers for a network card. then the system would load the drivers from the flash and hide the drive or disable it when drivers are loaded.

for those who have Vista on their networks. how have you been working with remote controlling systems to fix/setup things? i use to have a script that would copy VNC to an XP/2K system and connect me but it does not work well in Vista. i have found myself making a temp domain admin account and using that to have the remote assistance under help and support allow me to use the UAC.
