Updating your Database Management Skills to Microsoft SQL Server 2014 : (01) Making the Most of MemoryMar 20, 2014 at 7:54 PM
Thanks for the video! I have a question about the new Buffer Pool Extension. It appears that this might work similar to ReadyBoost on Windows. In our setup we have all of our SQL Server databases stored on a NAS loaded with SSDs connected by 10 Gb connections, so disk IO is already pretty fast. Could we still expect to see benefits by adding an SSD to the host machine and implementing the Buffer Pool Extension? If so, what benefits do you think there would be?
