does anyone know of a resource where I can get support for this? It's really frustrating that I've been on this for the past day and haven't been able to resolve it.

haha, what if I use Skype on my PHONE?GoddersUK said:

As for me, I tend to only use my phone for texting when I can help it. Occasionally people call me, but if I ever call anyone I tend to use Skype.

I use my cell or skype for everything.

staceyw said:I have noticed wierd install and run issues with 64bit software and some of the bugs are not as well covered as with 32bit. So much so, I don't think 64bit is worth the extra issues (unless you absolutely need it for the larger RAM area). Is the OS 64 bit also, I assume so or you should have failed earlier. It error looks like some dependentcy has not been loaded first.
I have tried uninstalling VS and SQL Components and starting over. That didn't work still the same error.
I have tried installing 32bit, however the ISO doesn't give you the option to go 32 or 64, it just seems to check your OS and go for it.
this is getting really frustrating.

I re-downloaded the iso from Microsoft, still having the same issue.Sven Groot said:Assuming this is a downloaded ISO, have you tried re-downloading and re-burning it? It sounds like corrupted install media to me.
Here is another clue from the install log:
Error: Action "ConfigEvent_Tools_Legacy_Full_sql_tools_Cpu64_Install_Finalize_finalize" failed during execution.
googling.
nothing, here is the full error, there are quite a few like this with different things that failed:
Error: Action "ConfigEvent_SQL_SSMS_Full_sql_tools_Cpu64_Install_Finalize_finalize" failed during execution.
2009-04-06 00:18:15 Slp: Action "ConfigEvent_Connectivity_Full_sql_tools_Cpu64_Install_Finalize_finalize" will return false due to the following conditions:
2009-04-06 00:18:15 Slp: Condition "Feature dependency condition for action: ConfigEvent_Connectivity_Full_sql_tools_Cpu64_Install_Finalize_finalize The condition tests feature: Connectivity_Full_sql_tools_Cpu64. There are 5 dependant features. The feature is tested for results: ValidateResult, Result, CleanupResult." did not pass as it returned false and true was expected.
2009-04-06 00:18:15 Slp: Condition is false because the required feature CommonFiles_sql_common_core_Cpu64 failed in result Result

What makes you say that? My RAM is stock from the machine drivers pre-installed.adatapost said:Sara,
You got those problems from RAM module. Replace or re-install properly.
Thanks.

What's up, ya'll? Long time no see.
I am installing SQL Server 2008 developer ed. Everytime I get about 3/4ths of the way through the install I get and error msg that says:
the following error has occured:
the system cannot find the path specified
I haven't been able to find anything online to support this issue.
I have Visual Studio 2008 installed, but no SQL express.
Thanks for your help! -
do yu have Vista?spivonious said:I haven't had any problems with it, except for it occassionally failing to register an assembly for COM interop due to a permission issue when building. This also happened before SP1.
This is usually fixed by running as an Admin. -

I was generally questioning the value of full text searches. Often a single word search is sufficient and when it isn't the quotation marks can give you what you're after. Adding full text search might just give you a mountain of meaningless results you'll rarely use.
PS - Didn't you once say that the quality of search results was how little results they actually returned? Won't Full Text Search actually go against that goal increasing the number a great deal?
One more point... In general Full Text Search's results quality depends hugely on the platform's understanding of the language it is searching. How much will Microsoft spend porting this to other languages? I'm sure US/English will have top end support but what about a much smaller market?

3. Profit!
