What’s wrong with Vista, IMHO it’s the best MS OS in years; just don’t install it on 5 year old hardware!

As for Apple, market share up, yeah but how many of those machines are running Vista?

Is there really a difference between Mac hardware and PC hardware, are we not really just arguing about the OS?

Im using the MSDN x64 Vista ultimate image to test software, If i run the Problem Reports & Solutions tool its tells me to "Upgrade to the latest retail version" and then "

Upgrade to the latest retail version of Windows Vista

The problem was caused by Windows Vista, which was created by Microsoft Corporation. You are running a beta version of Windows Vista, which is no longer supported by Microsoft Corporation."

Has anyone else seen this?

Cant see any "Technical Reason" why it wont work on Vista.

Hi,

Can someone clarify if in fact Windows Live Mobile will be released as a standalone installer, or if it will only be made available in builds of Windows Mobile 2007 / WM6

I currently have an Orange SPV C600 / HTC device running WM5/2005 It has MSN Mobile/messenger.

I’m looking at upgrading my current handset to an Orange SPV E650

having looked a the device in store it does not have MSN/Live messenger: The unbranded HTC equivalent does have.

For people in the UK, channel 4 has an On Demand service called 4OD, but for some reason its not avalible on Windows Vista :-(

Is the DRM tech in XP not the same as Vista ? :O

anyone outside the UK use any other similar services? and do they work on Vista?

I find it strange that they will not support Vista

Thank you for your email regarding 4oD.

Unfortunately we cannot say when the 4oD service will be available to users of other platforms, including Mac OS, Vista and Linux. The problem is, our content providers (e.g. the production companies who make our shows), insist on using a DRM licensing system.

The DRM (Digital Rights Management) system basically protects the video content from duplication and broadcast outside the UK & ROI. Currently they insist on using Microsoft's DRM, and because of this we can only support Microsoft operating systems.

Linux currently has no such DRM system available and so our content providers will not allow us to support the Linux operating system. Macintosh do have a solution, however the closed DRM system used by Apple is not currently available for licence by third parties and there is no other Mac-compatible DRM solution which meets the protection requirements of our content owners. Unfortunately, we are therefore unable to offer 4oD and other video content to Mac users at this stage.

We are sorry to disappoint on this occasion and assure you that if changes throughout the industry happen, as we would like, we will ensure the support of other operating systems.

Is anyone using Office Live Mail. Im testing it and have it set up in Outlook 2003, I have imported all my contacts into the office live store, I want to use my Windows Mobile to sync these contacts using ActivSync, is this possible?

Why are the retail boxes for Windows so dam big? All you get in there is ONE DISK maybe two. Hopefully when I see Vista on the shelf it’s in packaging that fits the purpose. :P

I have a few questions

I have my own domain and an email address at that domain that was registered a s a passport.

When I signed up for the custom domains i seem to have had 2 choices because my email address was alredy a passport.

Import the acc

or evict the acc

since it would not let me import i had to evict with the understanding that after 30 days i can re use my emails address

well it been 35+ days and i stil cant use it :-(
