Ahhhrr,

I'm backing up an old FAT32 formatted drive that has Windows ME installed. Damn it, I need to get some data off because the installation is corrupt and im too lazy to re-install ME. I hooked it up to a USB Drive Enclosure, it shows on Vista but asks to format ....

Any suggestions? .. Gotta have this stuff!

I just tried to post without being signed in, so Channel9 takes me to a Live Signup page to transfer my steve411 handle. It throws a bunch of "The server method 'MoveToLiveID' failed." errors and won't let me leave back home or even sign out... I close the browser, browse back to C9 and the same old thing. I'm finally now able to post ..

Wonder how they got my information,

I've got five accounts, three dormant to collect interest and two that I use once in a while. From the two is a my corporate account which has a debit card that is not activated, the other is a personal checking with an activated card.

There are three transactions going through my corporate account from a company called; "Frontier Credit, Inc". It's posted as a DEBIT transaction but keep in mind that my card is not activated.

Has anyone heard of these guys so I can kick some ass? I can't find them on Google or Yahoo!

Has anyone here ever taken out a potential client for a breakfast discussion (or meeting, whatever) and he ended up passing off a weird vibe?. This morning I took one out and he gave off a con artist free loading type of vibe. What do you guys do in this kind of case?

Hey guys,

I have a pretty good understanding of WebRequests and WebResponse. However, I'm really having a hard time with creating a web request for the AnswerBag service.

I'm trying to create a web request that will send a form on their login page. The page is : http://www.answerbag.com/login?

I would like to pass the username (email in this case) and password, then get an http response.

I already some code down but it seems to returns successful regardless if the information is valid or not.

Anyone?

Hey everyone,

I'm having a hard time with this one. Since AskVille does not provide an RSS feed I can work with, I need to write a regular expression which will retrieve all of the results of a search.

So for example, on askville.com if i were to search for "google", i'd get referred to this page:
http://askville.amazon.com/SearchRequests.do?search=google&open=true&closed=false

It returns about 10 individual results. I need to grab the URL and title of each result. Can anyone help me with the regular expression for this?

I've used Vista even in its early stages as Longhorn, yet now for the first time ever in a zillion light years, it freezes when I try to turn up/down the volume and reboots explorer.exe.. What gives?

And anyone else have this problem?

Someone using an IP registered to Sony Network Taiwan has been trying to spam my mail boxes. They've attempted to login to my mail server with faulty credentials a numerous amount of times. Here's the log file:

It's a Seattle-based company that creates "Schtickers" for laptops and iPods, etc. Pretty neat idea, It's a good way to advertise your business or your services when you're out and about with your laptop (park, starbucks, meetings, etc).

I just ordered one for my company, pretty neat stuff! Check it out.

Horrible. I bought three Microsoft Points (4000) and they are not working. Not on the web interface nor on the XBOX Live Interface. This is bull, I'm on the phone with a lady right now and have been on hold for like 20 minutes. She made me try to activate the card three times. ... The definition of insanity is repeating the same fricking thing over and over again and expecting a different result!

What do I do? The store I've gone back to already and they said they can't do anything since they've been scratched off, apperantly they can't even touch them (they refused to) due to Microsoft Copyright laws! ...

Ahh, guys, this is like 130$ dollars. Stupid.

I've only recently started to use Ubuntu, so far in the past two weeks I've fallen in love with it.

The reason I'm naming this thread "Perfect Harmony" is well ... because I'm an MS lover, but I'm also a geek who loves technology. (All technology).

As of tonight I'm running Ubuntu on my Dell Laptop, 2.4 GHz processor 1GB Ram 128MB vid card, 120 GB HD. Back in 2001 my very first computer was the HP Pavilion 500, not much to look at but back then it was a whoooooooooooow! I just reassembled it (it was disassembled, HD was out in a different PC, processor was out, no memory just an empty box). This I've made into a File Server since I wont be getting Windows Home Server anytime soon; too much hardware in my house as is (there's a dell desktop laying on my floor right now).

Im logged in from Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04, running Firefox with all the possible deals you could have on Linux. It's hooked up to my windows network, which was previously wireless but I've just converted it into a wired network (excluding the laptop). So I've got the old PC (upgraded now) running as a file server (yes... in the closet), my work machine (new eMachine), and the laptop. As well as another computer in the living room WOW! :)

I'm RDP'ing into all of my windows machines from Ubuntu, right now im configuring my Windows Server 03 installation.

Is this a network configuration bug?
I'm running a big network here at the office. All of the PC's are connected together. My personal PC is Vista Ultimate. The other 4 are XP Pro.

I also have Windows Server 2003 running in a seperate room which is also running on the same network. PCName: TAKEPMC

I can't connect to the SQL Server instance using the Enterprise Manager on Windows Vista (SQL Serv Enterprise Manager).

Why? ...

Vista is connected to the network, can log into the PC, FINDS the SQL Server Instance ... but can't connect to it. Even when using SQL Server Authentication. Named Pipes is on, all the settings are correct. Firewall is configured correctly (both on Win Server and the router) .. I can even get into TAKEPMC using Remote Desktop Connection ...

What the heck is going on?

Ok, I can't seem to install Visual Studio 08' on my Vista Ult. PC. Setup fails right AFTER the installation of .NET Framework 3.5. However, at the end it says that the framework is what has caused the installation to quit ...

What the heck is going on?

Components installed .. now install VS 08.

Maybe not ...
