you know, it is kind of weird to rely on a russian and an american page more than on a german article.... when it comes to german laws and politics....

I have even checked on the page of the government and can't find anything on tv recordings there either. (http://www.bundestag.de/parlament/plenargeschehen)

I really hate to correct you on this, but the german article says nothing at all about TV...

Whenever I'm opening the "Programs and Features" dialog of my xp installation, the dialog is all f***cked up.

You could try to use a tool called HDGraph (http://hdgraph.sourceforge.net/). It shows you graphically which folders/subfolders take up how much space.
It helped me to find 7GB of unnecessarily used space on my C drive.

Hi guys,

we're have been relying on the Timezone information inside the Windows registry pretty heavily.
To identify the time zones, we have used the index that is stored in the registry.

However, we have now found several problems with that:

In Windows Vista, the index no longer exists and we couldn't find any definite way to identify each zone.
Depending on which version of Windows (Server and Client) our application is running on, there are different time zones in the registry. Some zones only exist in XP, but not on the server.

When searching the internet for a secure way to rely on the info, always the same piece of code shows up.
This is how we have used this piece of code so far:

However, this piece of code won't work on Vista or Server 2003 Enterprise...

Any ideas what info one should rely on when using Timezones?

Well, I've just tried caching the complete HTML of the table and that works fine.... I think we will try it this way.

But it would definitely be interesting to find out the reason for this bug and how to work around it...

The reason, that I used the "object" as the key, was for demo purposes only.
In the actual implementation, the cache key is called "LinkTable".

Hi guys,

long time no post, but now I'm in need of the help of this great community

I have some trouble with the Cache object of ASP.Net

I have a table with several 5 rows and 5 cells in each row, each containing a link to google. (demo purposes only)

I build this table dynamically and want to cache it (for several users), instead of rebuilding it during every request.

Here is how I build the table:

HtmlTable tbl = new HtmlTable();
for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++)
{
   HtmlTableRow tblrow = new HtmlTableRow();
   for (int j = 0; j < 5; j++)
   {
      HtmlTableCell cell = new HtmlTableCell();
      HtmlAnchor href = new HtmlAnchor();
      href.InnerText = "Google.com";
      href.HRef = http://www.google.com/">http://www.google.com;
      cell.Controls.Add(href);
      tblrow.Cells.Add(cell);
   }
   tbl.Rows.Add(tblrow);
}
tbl.Border = 1;

So I add the table to the cache first and afterward to the page using the following code:

Cache.Add("object", tbl, null, System.Web.Caching.Cache.NoAbsoluteExpiration, new TimeSpan(2,0,0), System.Web.Caching.CacheItemPriority.Normal, null);

this.Controls.Add(tbl);

During the onLoad, I check if the object is available in the cache. If it is, I retrieve it and add it to the page, using the following code:

tbl = (HtmlTable)this.Cache["object"];

this.Controls.Add(tbl);

However, when loading the table from the cache, all HTMLAnchors inside the table are missing the href-tag.

Any ideas, why this happens? And maybe even on how to avoid it?

I'm having the exact same problem, although I have 11 days left to activate.

It's the same situation here: Downloaded from Microsoft, installed and activated on sunday. When I booted it up yesterday, I was asked to activate again. While doing it, the above mentioned error occured.....

If anyone should have a solution, that would be great!

Well, according to this article in german, the ruling doesn't actually change anything.
