AMQP support is based on OASIS AMQP 1.0 standard. The libraries used on Scott's post are part of the Apache QPID project as part of the project they've created the Client API is called Proton.

Wade mentions that it would be wise to copy the sql connection string from your web.config file to place in your HostedService.cscfg.

I have created some code and a blog post that helps manage this exact scenario.

@James -

have you ever been to a conference or in a class with a mono-tone speaker or teacher? It's not fun or interesting to watch, and it's not very likely you'd go back.

Sure the antics are just that, but I believe it's great to show off the great personality behind the show during it's recording. I doubt you can say that you didn't learn a single thing from this episode. I'm now prepared for the SQL Azure Update, and am informed about the slight bug in the new Management Portal so when I'm presenting I can call out those issues.

If you don't enjoy the show because it's "Fooling Around" come back and click on the links for the tip of the week and read away. I, for one, enjoy the antics of Wade, Steve and other Co-Hosts.

P.S. - I've watched every single episode, some more than once!

@HowardHoffman - I'm working on a Blog Series right now and it relies on Start-up Tasks.

I'm using the cspack command-line tool in order to build my Cloud Service Package and it asks to place the Start-up commands into a bin folder in your deployment. $approot\bin

I am trying to avoid using an IDE for this series, so I can't comment on how to handle this in visual studio yet, but i'll be sure to update you with a new comment here when I get the blog series up and when I have the chance to check out the Story in VS.

You can't do the Blood and Gore Game due to the fact it will not pass the Market Place Testing.

One Big hint to anyone developing for the Phone, make sure to read the Application Requirements Documentation.

So that it actually is something that will pass Marketplace Testing, is it possible to provide the bits when I'm finished as an update to the Exercise?

My hope that it will benefit Developers that are trying to get games into the Marketplace by being able to see how to handle the Hardware buttons and Requirements that weren't followed during the aforementioned demo

Hey Ryan & Steve,

Redeploying the Application for a Configuration change isn't quite the best scenario. I would suggest updating the cscfg using visual studio, then digging into the Debug (or Release) folder and get the configuration file which could be updated using the Web Portal [http://windows.azure.com].

Reploying would bring down the application (unless it was uploaded to staging then hotswapped, which requires logging into the Portal anyway) not to mention it takes quite a long time to upload the entire application for a change that is literally a few bytes in size.

Just a war of words, but you guys always do a great job of clarifying things.
