My implementation does not use AJAX nor DHTML but pure HTML and some JavaScript...cause I needed a simple solution using ordinary modal windows allowing me to pass data between dialog itself and its consumer...

Tech Off - Tail. calls & Visual Studio lies

Hi!
I've been using tail. calls in my recent IL project and today I came across this

post. If you go through it, you can see the performance differencies between call vs. tail. call instructions and the proof that the tail calls are barely optimized by .NET JITer. What a shame! Not only that the tail. calls are slow under .NET, but VS disassembly
view lies you about the actual jitted code! Hope they'll improve the performance in .NET v4.0 (still dislike that v3.0 mess )

One may wonder what other things VS lies about...

Tech Off - XP Copy Problem

Hi.
I just bought a larger hard drive and I wanted to move my existing WinXP installation to it. So I installed the new drive as the Secondary Master and booted to my XPs. Then I used Partition Magic to copy the system partition on the new disk. After that, I installed
the new one as the Primary Master and removed the original one.

But now, when the mirrored XPs boot, they just freeze during the logon. The weird part is that when I plug the original drive as the Secondary Master, the boot is ok, except a few crashing svhost processes.

I read somewhere that you have to remove all the disk controllers from the Device manager prior to the copy (?).

Has anybody experienced this problem? I just don't want to reinstall XP and download all the updates

Thanks A LOT.
