Currency Converter v2 – Now on Caffeine!
May 02, 2011 at 7:43 AMAre you seriously advocating the use of screen-scraping? Not only is that notoriously unstable (one change in the MSN markup and your app stops working) but I'm pretty sure it violates the ToS for virtually all Microsoft web properties.
Countdown to MIX11: Get the Goods (including a free pass) in 10 Minutes
Feb 09, 2011 at 9:45 AMAre you guys sure you want to say that MIX is a "100% consumer Web" event? Because, you know, WP7 doesn't quite fit that. Yes, development for it is based on Silverlight, which is (was?) mainly Web technology, but honestly, WP7 is not Web. Even once IE Mobile supports HTML5, WP7 will be mostly about Silverlight and XNA. Just sayin'.

Countdown to PDC10: There’s one pass left! Is your name on it?
Aug 17, 2010 at 5:26 AMAlso, upon waking up this morning, I realized that there may be a better way to say why I want to be at PDC10: a haiku!
The Microsoft sound
Beckons me this cool morning
A grand day awaits
Countdown to PDC10: There’s one pass left! Is your name on it?
Aug 16, 2010 at 6:16 PMI'd very much like to be at PDC10 because, to a developer like myself, access to Microsoft's campus (a.k.a. Mecca) and especially the people responsible for the technologies I use every day is priceless.
That, and I like even numbers. I was at the awesome PDC08, and I'd really like to be at PDC10. An advance pass to PDC12 would also be much appreciated
Countdown to MIX10: T-8 Weeks and There’s a Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin On

Oh, and for the record, the old timer's ringer was much more distinctive

Where the Multitouch Devices Are
Oct 22, 2009 at 7:30 PMAs far as multitouch technologies themselves go, resistive should not necessarily be last. I was at CEATEC earlier this year, and Stantum had a booth there with a demo of their unlimited points resistive multitouch technology - very impressive. There are probably videos of it on YouTube. I'm not aware of any actual implementations of it in computers, though. I just wanted to mention that resistive isn't always bad.
Countdown to PDC09: Visual Studio and .NET Framework Track Owner Tells All
Sep 11, 2009 at 12:21 PMThe challenge appears to be a visual one. Then again, I'm bad at these, so who knows
