I have wondered this for a while, why is the windows media player team so quiet? They do not seem to have a team blog (or if they have one its well hidden) they always have long drought times between releases, and generally arent visible as to thier plans.

Any chance C9 could try to get an interview or pry some info out of the MP team?

Unlike alot of forums software there really is not an advanced search to find posts by user, you can see threads they started but not posts by user.

Can or will this be added? Or am I missing the obvious way to do this that I am missing?

Does anyone know how to view error reports in Windows 7. There does not seem to a problem reports and solutions control panel icon or it is well hidden.

Any chance the site might switch over and start to use the Live-Sign in assistant?

This is great for people that activily have multiple users with live id's. They use it in hotmail and live maps would also make it more consistant between apps.

Vista's built in search [Vista's built in search]

I am wondering if it is possible to add network locations to the Windows Vista v4 indexer.

I know you can do it in Windows XP Desktop search very easily but it does not seem possible in Vista.

I just saw the first Vista commercial with Bill G and Senifeld. Bill is looking for shoes and seinfled suggests the conquitador. As the two walk out of the store Seinfled asks if Bill has used his amazing brain with other brains at Microsoft and he says of course then Seinfeld asks if they come out with something to make computers edible. Bill says yea I think. This will be an intersesting campaign.

What is up with the Windows Media Player team? MP 11 came out a while back and there have no real updates to it and no talk/blogs of 12. Is there any word of a beta or anything?

Media Player Error [Media Player Error]

I recently reloaded my pc, using an XP SP 2 cd (offical holo cd not my own slipstream.) Downloaded all my drivers and got everything running but I am having a small issue with Media Player 11.

"Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card."

I checked all the basics and did install the codec pack XP codec pack 2.3.3.

I believe that this is caused by a DRM issue. I beilve this because IF I load up Windows media player 11 to play a dvd with DVD 43 (this is a program for stripping off drm from dvds) the entire dvd plays fine, picture and sound are fine meaning it is not the disk or the drive.
This leads me to believe it is not in my pc's install or in a software setting.

XP SP 2 all updates from microsoft update
Media player 11 build 11.0.5721.5230
Office 2003 all updates
AtI Radeon 9800 Pro with latest drivers,
ATI TV wonder pro with latest drivers,
Ran the Direct X end user runtime updater

Can anyone offer any assistance???
