When will Microsoft learn? You get what you pay for. Ownership vs. Lease. Can we all be certain the Zune Store will be here tomorrow? Is Apple's pricing structure really the only thing they can attack?

Microsoft should stop slamming their competition and start pointing out great things in their products..... wait.... they tried that with the ads they shot at Best Buy advertising Windows Live Gallery etc. and were atrocious. Hire a new marketing team!

If I understand it correctly, that's the interesting thing about Expression Web Superpreview: rather than run or emulate other rendering engines, it sends a request for the page to some server, which then renders it on the target platform, and then sends an
image of the output back. So in theory this could mean that you can tell exactly what your page would look like in Safari under OSX (including OSX's fonts and everything) without actually having to own a mac or runs OSX/Safari, because the server will render
it on an OSX machine for you.

http://litmusapp.com/

Yup, think I've seen that one on iTunes. But I think this a different kettle of fish. For a start the existing clause you've listed doesn't mention the ninety day refund period whether it is fit for purpose or not. If the developers are just seeing the change
now, I'm thinking that Apple could be holding off on the end user agreement until the iPhone OS update is released.
But if the developers think the change is coming and they're worried about it, then now is the time to kick up a fuss.

Coffeehouse - Ballmer says tide has turned on Apple

foreachdev said:

jamie said:

I 100% behind what Steve Balmer is saying. Apple offers an overpriced yuppie oriented product. Why pay 1000+ dollars for a Mac when you can get a PC/Phone for a 66% price difference?

Reasons I have seen:
-Users ego is through the glass ceiling. They like to have something over glammed.
-User has the money to burn.
-User has no technical background and just trying to keep up with the Jones.
-Mac has sold them a lifestyle not a realistic value.

Apple users are paying for an image and lifestyle not out of technical superiority or better underlying hardware.

No, you are only partially correct. People buy Macs because they like a good, solid product (ehem unibody). They also buy them because the software is much cheaper. iWork - $79. OS X Leopard - $129. iLife - comes with new Macs. Windows does not have
a iLife competitor... unless you like SongSmith (LOL!). Macs have a 'unity' feature about them that they will always have because the product line is contained by Apple. You don't have hundreds of foreign markets making sh!tty hardware and then slapping on
a low-grade OS that can run on all these different hardware configs.

@ Bas, why are you against hobbyist software? I'm sure every piece of software on your PC (ew, I feel dirty just typing 'PC') wasn't made by a high-profile company.

You all who deny the App Store clearly deny it. It is approaching $1 BILLION global sales and it's been out... oh.... less than a year.
