Coffeehouse - Roll call - tell us who you are!

Hello Channel 9!

My name is Jerome Holman. I am a graduate student working on my master’s degree at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. I currently work for Apple even though I recently accepted an internship with Microsoft. I have been the campus OS X evangelist, driving the
CS department to change the beginning curriculum from using Visual Studio.Net to Java (that runs great on Mac OS X). I also worked closely with to help convince Virginia Tech to build the 10 teraflop super computer, System X, out of Apple Power Mac G5s.
You can see my pictures on my homepage:
My personal mantra that drives me forward:

Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square hole, the ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with
them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them, because they change things. They push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the people who are crazy enough to think they
can change the world, are the ones who'll do it.

Coffeehouse - Solid Text Editors for Programming on Windows

Hello all,

I am new to the community, and I just wanted to first of all say how great Channel 9 is. My question is that I am a heavy OS X programmer, and I feel lost with out an equivalent to BBEdit (http://www.barebones.com/products/bbedit/index.shtml)
on Windows. Is there something equivalent or better on Windows? I am getting into some .Net development, and I just need a text editor to understand it. I can't have Visual Studio do things until I understand what Visual Studio is doing.

Sincerely,

Jerome

Coffeehouse - Yup ... we gots bugs ... we gots things to do better

I LOVE the idea of a new way of opening the lines of communication between developers and the community. This site has great potential.

Organization of Content into Categories (Dynamic Search Folders)

I do have a suggestion that I think would improve the site by an order of magnitude. How about having some way to actually organize all the videos/posts/pictures into logical areas. Content could exist in multiple areas, but it would make it easier for people
to find the things they are interested in and talk about it. If there is some discussion about the CLR, it would be great to see other discussions about the CLR. If there is a discussion on what's wrong with markup languages, it would be fun to see some
of the candid photos of Microsoft's web developers at work.

Bookmarks

It would be neat to allow us to personalize our own front page. Maybe I like the things that one developer has to say. It would be neat to login and see new posts from him or her. Just personalization in general would be good.
