The iPod just isn't geared towards fast forwarding unless you know the precise duration of the spiel you need to fast forward past. It becomes a game of "oh, I fast forwared too far. Oh, I rewound too much now" - life's too short, especially when it's the same
few component manufacturers each week with the same "Spread a little love" spiel from Carl. Last DNR I listened to had the same introductory spiel, two long ads interrupting the show and then the usual "Carl never sleeps" outro. I'm impatient, what can I tell
you?!

Again, life's too short. A show has to be really special to warrant that time and effort. It's bad enough I have to sit and wait for the thing to download and then transfer it without going through a conversion loop too. If I wanted to do that I'd transfer
my DVD collection instead using a tool like DVD Pocket PC instead.

That's why I don't use over hyped devices like the iPod. I have been using portable video player devices for around three years now.

I can FF and see the time display and I can listen to videos without watching them and I can turn the display off to save battery juice. Therefore I don't have to convert them.

However why would someone convert movies to audio only? The video shows I listen to have their mnain content in the audio potion.

one more:
Steve Gibson, Leo LaPorte do securitynow.com. It can have some good info but Steve can really bore me with his talking style. When I have nothing else to listen to, that's my last.

Actually I need a lot more podcasts because I also listen during work time (8 hours/day) and not just during commute so my podcasts demand is outsripping the supply by a big margin.

DNR has only one commercial towards the middle of the show. You can always fast forward it if it really bugs you.

Other good podcasts:

- Polymorphic podcast. .NET centric.
- Venturevoice.com -
- TWit.TV - Leo Laporte, Steve gibson, John Dvorak... - Musings.

You can also just convert video shows to audio only and they would work.... like dnrtv.com, msntv, channel9... etc. You don't have to watch these shows to get the content. If anyone knows good video shows, let us know. I use a portable video player to listen
to podcasts and watch video.

Coffeehouse - Bringing Google to it's knees, but why would anyone do it?

Someone would click on a competitor's ad multiple times. This would knock the ad off from showing up when the daily spending limit is reached.

Second naturally its costs the competitor money.

Plus dishinest adsense website site owners do the same to increase their revenue. AFAIK, adsense ads come from the same source as adwords. The advertisor is paying either way.

Click fraud is not simple. Obviosuly someone clicking on the same ad will trigger Google's antifraud sensors. Many clicks coming from the same ip address?

Click fraud could become a major problem.
Click per sale could be the proper model. You pay only when someone buys something. see snap.com.
