The exact same people who made the 360 a success and MS seems to be ignoring now, the hardcore people who know what the specs mean to some extent.&nbsp;</p><p>I agree with Sven, MS has gone the wrong path. It seems they're completely oblivious as to what made the 360 a success to begin with. Hint: Only a single Kinect game has ever made it into the top 10 selling 360 games for a given month.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>

		<title>Coffeehouse - Next XBOX specs - MS going conservative</title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;No,&nbsp;supposedly MS will have 3GB on reserve for running their own things even while games are running. It has been suggested that Kinect might always be running, even during games that make no use of it.&nbsp;&nbsp;Considering this is coming form devs using dev kits, it's all subject to change, but wasting so many resources would definitely diminish the quality of games. In the end it's software that makes it or breaks it (Gears and Halo made the xbox), but devs prefer the most powerful machines.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>

		<title>Coffeehouse - Next XBOX specs - MS going conservative</title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p>MS next console machine has been detailed and it looks like it'll lag behind their rival, Sony's PS4. &nbsp;What surprises the most is the rumor that the OS will use up&nbsp;<strong>3GB&nbsp;</strong>of memory, that's like 5 Windows Vistas running concurrently. It also seems that MS is putting more emphasis on being more than a gaming machine, something Sony did early in PS3's life and failed miserably at. Nintendo also appealed to a difference audience and failed later in its life-cycle. So what do you think? will we see a new version of XNA (C&#43;&#43; version) with the release of this machine?</p><p><a href="http://www.neowin.net/news/next-gen-xbox-specs-reportedly-leak">http&#58;&#47;&#47;www.neowin.net&#47;news&#47;next-gen-xbox-specs-reportedly-leak</a></p><p>&quot;</p><p>CPU:</p><ul><li>x64 Architecture </li><li>8 CPU cores running at 1.6 gigahertz (GHz) </li><li>each CPU thread has its own 32 KB L1 instruction cache and 32 KB L1&nbsp;<a id="itxthook1" class="itxtrst itxtrsta itxthook" href="<a href="http://www.neowin.net/news/next-gen-xbox-specs-reportedly-leak">http&#58;&#47;&#47;www.neowin.net&#47;news&#47;next-gen-xbox-specs-reportedly-leak</a>#" rel="nofollow"><span id="itxthook1w" class="itxtrst itxtrstspan itxtnowrap">data</span></a>&nbsp;cache </li><li>each module of four CPU cores has a 2 MB L2 cache resulting in a total of 4 MB of L2 cache </li><li>each core has one fully independent hardware thread with no shared execution resources </li><li>each hardware thread can issue two instructions per clock </li></ul><p>GPU:</p><ul><li>custom D3D11.1 class 800-MHz graphics processor </li><li>12 shader cores providing a total of 768 threads </li><li>each thread can perform one scalar multiplication and addition operation (MADD) per clock cycle </li><li>at peak performance, the GPU can effectively issue 1.2 trillion floating-point operations per second </li></ul><p>High-fidelity Natural User Interface (NUI) sensor is always present</p><ul><li>Storage and Memory: </li><li>8 gigabyte (GB) of RAM DDR3 (68 GB/s) </li><li>32 MB of fast embedded SRAM (ESRAM) (102 GB/s) </li><li>from the GPU's perspective the bandwidths of system memory and ESRAM are parallel providing combined peak bandwidth of 170 GB/sec. </li><li>Hard drive is always present </li><li>50 GB 6x Blu-ray Disc drive&quot; </li></ul>]]></description>

		<title>Coffeehouse - Reading int from file in C#</title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p>@magicalclick, I've tried Read() and it gets a single char, the problem with this and the ReadBlock() approach is that I actually don't know the length of each number and they could differ in length. I could certainly just read the entire line and the break it up using space but that wouldn't be as elegant as the C&#43;&#43; solution.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>

		<title>Coffeehouse - Reading int from file in C#</title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;@kettch, your method is basically how I've been doing it but it requires more code to&nbsp;separate&nbsp;the string into the numbers I want and put them into the correct spot in the 2D array.&nbsp;</p><p>@cbae, in my case space is the delimiter. A delimiter is just some&nbsp;separator&nbsp;of data.&nbsp;</p><p>It's a txt file, an example would be like so:</p><pre>2 11 3 10<br>1 9 4 6<br>6 13 7 8<br>5 14 15 12</pre><pre>&nbsp;</pre><pre>So what I want is to read int by int and put each number into my 2-dimensional array. I guess it boils&nbsp;</pre><pre>down to if I can do something like this in C#:</pre><pre><br>inFile &gt;&gt; someInt; &nbsp;// for ints seperate by space</pre><p>&nbsp;</p>]]></description>

		<title>Coffeehouse - Reading int from file in C#</title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;I'm kind of new to C# (come from a C&#43;&#43; background), and I've got a question regarding file reading. Is there a way to read a large number of ints or doubles from a file directly (as easy as in C&#43;&#43;)?</p><p>I've looked into StreamReader, StringReader and BinaryReader and while I can get it done, I think I must be missing something since it's not nearly as straightforward as it is in C&#43;&#43;. So far I've used StreamReader to read the entire file, then use ' ' as a&nbsp;delimiter&nbsp;and get my ints that way.&nbsp;</p><p>Basically I'm looking to do the C# equivalent of this:</p><p><pre class="brush: cpp">std::ifstream ins;
ins.open(file_name.c_str());
if(ins.is_open())
{
     while(ins)
     {
          ins &gt;&gt; tmp;
          arr[iter] = tmp; iter&#43;&#43;;
      }
}

		<title>Coffeehouse - &quot;Microsoft Out of Favor With Young, Hip Developers&quot;</title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;The university I attend does C/C&#43;&#43; for most courses (x86 and MIPS for low level courses) in the CS program and all Linux (Redhat to be specific) with g&#43;&#43; and Emacs based. We have some teachers who are Linux lovers, going as far as to distribute discs of
 the OS in class, others don't care. Since I have a minor in MIS (Business college), I took 2 programming classes there, and they use VB for one class and Java for the other, but MIS majors are not coders per se.&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;I've been doing C# after getting into XNA. I wanted to learn some new tech in the summer and decided on C# because MS gives me a free copy of VS2010 and C# is an accessible and productive language. Being hooked ever since. But most students don't care for
 MS technologies since the school stays clear of it. I think the Dreamspark and MSDNAA initiatives are a good start, XNA is also a nice push. MS needs to show how easy it is to build
<em>complex </em>apps with their tools to win over more students.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;I'd like them to keep the same philosophy as with Windows 7 and slim it down even more. Make it faster. Definitely keep the search bar in the start menu (haven't clicked to open a program in ages on Win 7). If a feature/tool is not necessary, take it out
 and reduce the memory footprint. &nbsp;Overall, make it fast and simple.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I think MS Management has to seriously rethink their product lifecycle management style, where they overpromise or atleast create great enthusiasm thru videos and their talks and then never deliver ( not even under ... ).&nbsp; I think in the current network
 connected world where news travels so fast&nbsp;... it will create a disillusion about MS promises&nbsp;in the minds of general public and&nbsp;specially in the minds of MS followers ...&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;Did MS ever even announced they were going to deliver such a product? It's not a cancellation, if it was never on track to be made into a retail product.&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;I was looking forward to it either way, but I knew the chances of it never making it to market were high. Looks like an ipad will have to suffice,&nbsp;</p></p>]]></description>

		<title>Coffeehouse - The BigO notation.</title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;Ah the beauty of big O, still remember it from a year ago. My teacher didn't like it that much, it was hard to get it wrong. Since big O is an upper bound you could have an algorithm that runs in linear time and say O(n^3) and still be right. I'm surprised
 you're covering big O at the graduate level, but I expect the algorithms you're dealing with must be very complex. In my Data Structures course we did mostly Θ(f(n)), and big O was merely used to defined Θ. Of course we covered simple data structures such
 as trees( AVL Trees, Red Black Trees, KD Trees..), Graph algorithms (Dijkstra, Bellman-Ford..), .. Although sometimes people use big O in terms of Θ &nbsp;since it's still right.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>

		<title>Tech Off - Windows 7 Folder Refresh Problem</title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;So I finally decide to leave Vista behind and move on to better things (or so I thought) with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit edition. Did a clean install, etc. So then I noticed when I create new folders, they don't show up until I hit F5 to refresh. Same
 thing happens when I delete folders. Sometimes if I do it&nbsp;continuously, Windows Explorer stops working and freezes the entire system. Did a little search on google and turns out other people have had the same [url=<a href="http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7files/thread/9d1ede23-2666-4951-b3b9-b6c1ce3d1ebf">http&#58;&#47;&#47;social.answers.microsoft.com&#47;Forums&#47;en-US&#47;w7files&#47;thread&#47;9d1ede23-2666-4951-b3b9-b6c1ce3d1ebf</a>]problem[/url],
 unfortunately there's no fix that seems to work yet. Apparently it has something to do with the Client for Microsoft Networks, however I've disabled it and the problem still persists. So do the channel9 experts know how to fix this issue or even if there might
 be some fix coming soon, thanks for future responses. Here's a pic of the problem in action.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><a rel="lightbox" href="http://img2.pict.com/7b/f8/8f/3003855/0/800/wexplorer.jpg"><img src="http://img2.pict.com/7b/f8/8f/3003855/0/800/wexplorer.jpg" alt=""></a>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;*EDIT*</p>
<p>So I've narrowed down the problem, it only seems to occur after I open a window explorer such as control panel or Computer folder, at that moment and thereafter, if I create a new folder it won't show up unless I refresh. Guess I'll just have to avoid doing
 this (if that's the only thing that causes the problem, still unsure) since MS probably takes ages to fix a bug.&nbsp;</p>
