Making Better Web Apps For Today's Browsers
Apr 19, 2011 at 9:38 AMThe idea of doing something like SILO has been rattling around in my head for a while now. I'm so happy someone else got to it first. Can't wait to see it implemented: hopefully as part of an ISAPI plugin?
I would like to see a free tool which does all this stuff for me and ensures I don't have to worry about it. On top of that, it should provide the ability to 'fall back' to verbose execution mode with a querystring or cookie or something - so that amateur developers can gaze in awe at my incredible code (i.e. I can debug mixing up '>' lt and '<' gt again).
Designing Great Experiences for SharePoint 2010
Apr 18, 2011 at 8:51 AMUnfortunately I can't switch my SP2010 site out of IE8 compatibility mode because it breaks the 'OK' button when submitting a new list item in an AJAX dialog. Tried to debug it but I'd have to muck about with web.configs etc, gets very messy. Shame, really. I was looking forward to exploiting IE9+HTML5 on our intranet.
It's really annoying that basically all the new features I was expecting to exploit in SP2010: Social tagging of external sites, HTML5 compat, cross-browser compat, sandboxes, etc - are all subtly broken. it seems like large elements of SP2010 are really just SP2007 broken differently...
