@JeremyJ:are you serious? its buggy and unreliable?

first, its a open source free OS as compared to Microsoft WP7 closed(including iOS)

next, give little thumbs up for a non-OS developement company to make something that i have not seen from Microsoft since i started using Windows.

Tell me how many years MS Windows Mobile has been in the market and how much innovation have come out as compared to Android or iOS from 2007 to 2011 how much changes in terms of UI and features.

i have been using Windows since 3.1 and until today Windows 7 i dont see any major UI changes.

I like Windows but Microsoft has to keep up with technology.

if Windows Live were to be on every platform just like Google(mail/maps/voice/talk) and contact syncing i dont think i would have switched. if Windows Live - mail/maps/bing/mesh/photos/skydrive and include contact syncing were to be added to android/iOS/Blackberry/Nokia platform then i think Google will have tough time catching up but MS is bent on using those services only on Windows so who's the loser here...

so until MS thinks outside the box(Windows) it is never going to be a successful company in the mobile space.

Windows Live Mesh is the worst.

I use Windows Live Sync and its the best app i have had. after installing Windows Live Mesh 2011 and tried adding a folder with files and guess what it started taking up CPU time. I never seen that in Windows Live Sync. I say Live Mesh sucks.

Hope they fix it.

I had bad experience with Windows 7- i installed it on my 9100 inspiron Dell Laptop everything went well install SQL 2008 and VS 2008 works great and even faster. but, when i installed Cisco VPN Client i saw Blue screen of death. I had taken a system image before installing vpn client.

I am not trying to get last modified time of a file. this data is coming from an ActiveX Control and it has the Event Time Stamp that i need to retrieve.

converting this huge value is the problem.

First, after googling i found that i need to use BitConvert in order to get Low/HighDateTime values
BitConverter.GetBytes()
System.Runtime.InteropServices.FILETIME ftime = new System.Runtime.InteropServices.FILETIME();
                    ftime.dwHighDateTime = BitConverter.ToInt32(bytes, 0);
                    ftime.dwLowDateTime = BitConverter.ToInt32(bytes, 4);

But sometimes the value i get for dwHighDateTime are negative and when i convert using FileTimeToSystemTime i get all zeros...

I am not sure how to proceed here...

I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 9100 Windows XP Pro to Vista Ultimate and it was seemless i didnt have any problem. However the Cisco VPN Client stopped working.... I have to wait for the stupid update from CISCO....

I have Off 2003/VS 2005 with Infragistics Vol 2 and DevExpress components lot of other developement tools and utilities everything worked.

IMHO its a good to go for update....

Let me know how it goes.....

VS2005 IDE keeps crashes...

I see too many problems with VS 2005 IDE (and i keep clicking send this report to MS) and TFS... never expected this kind of software quality from M$...... I do understand nothing is perfect but atleast the basic things should be stable....

At the same time we have StarTeam with maybe around 50 projects it opens up real quick and downloads updates fast.... we never had any problems so far... i m not sure why we switched....

Worst is the TFS Installation.. its a pain in B*** to install.. whoever designed it never thought it should be made less complex and more automated.... for example the installer says you need to installl .NET framework patch which is right on the CD why not install it automatic instead of telling the user to go first install it and then restart the setup.... sorry but thats plain stupid in my opinion.

Reason i say this because i do write Installation scripts for our product... I automate most of things which are included on the CD it make the installation as easy as possible... (install Framework/SQL Server/Drivers and so on)

I have the same problem. Cisco has an update for Vista but its still in Beta but You need a valid Cisco CCO login to access the VPN client software..

WCF will do what you want - but why place extra layers of abstraction (and code) over the top of The One True Way(tm)

Hmmm.... Interesting... How about PeerChannel? Can I use that for sending Data packets Client to Client. That way i can reduce the overhead on the Server right?
