In SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 R2, the new feature is to publish the report data as atom feed and atom service document. This screencast explores how to generate an ATOM data feed from a SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services report, and how to cosume that feed from Excel 2010.

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 introduces Report Parts. Report parts are report items that you store on a report server, or on a SharePoint site that is integrated with a report server. You can reuse report parts in multiple reports, and you can update them on the server.

In this presentation i talk about how to make use of shared components in SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services, including shared data sets and report parts. we also see how to access shared datasets and published report parts. We will also see what happens when the original report part changes.

Securing REST ful services

REST is an acronym for Represntational state transfer, REST defines an architectural style based on a set of constraints for building things the “Web” way.

In this screen cast I will demo how to secure a restful web service using WeServicebHost2Factory and Request Interceptors in WCF Rest Starter Kit. i will implement both Basic Authentication Request Interceptor and also Authorization Header token based authentication.
