Tech Off - What notation do you guys use for control naming?

TheGroupOfTheControl_TheNameOfTheControl

So

About - tab page / group
About_Authors - just something in the group
About_Translators - just something in the group

I don't put the type of variable inside my names because I do most of my work in C# .NET 2005, and it tells you the type of the control during the intellisense.

And if i'm not using C# then i'm using PHP 4, and there variable types don't matter, i can easily make a int be a string or whatever.

In PHP most of my stuff is inside classes, and there is no point going

class About {
$About_Authors;
$About_Translators;
}

You just do

class About {
$Authors;
$Translators;
}

Yer I'm really against the hungarian notation, sure it would be good back 15 years ago, where memory was such a problem and you had to make sure that you don't run out of memory when assigning to your variables.

Yer...

one line of code.

Neither IE6 or IE7 follow standards, if your a web designer you should know this...IE7 is an improvement, but still a pain in the (I need to watch my language) as developers now need to cater for IE7 as well as IE6 and the rest.

Coffeehouse - Vista delayed...misses Christmas - launch now 2007

Did any of you (apologise to the ones who did) read the original article posted by microsoft?

http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2006/mar06/03-21WindowsVistaDeliveryPR.mspx

“Product quality and a great out-of-box experience have been two of our key drivers for Windows Vista, and we are on track to deliver on both,” said Jim Allchin, co-president for the Platforms & Services Division at Microsoft. “But the industry requires greater
lead time to deliver Windows Vista on new PCs during holiday. We must optimize for the industry, so we’ve decided to separate business and consumer availability.”

“Because of the way businesses test and deploy software, it makes sense for Microsoft volume licensing customers to receive windows Windows Vista starting in November of this year. Availability for consumers and on new PCs will follow in January.”

It will still be out in november, just not for the average joe.

Coffeehouse - Hacked X360 video

No evidence.... Besides the video being made from some of the hackers that had serious influence on some of the original xbox hacks, and they actually go in depth on how they did it on the most popular xbox hacking website....

But I need to stress its not a Hacked Xbox360, its a Hacked Xbox360 DVD Drive Firmware.

And about the copy;
A original game dvd has lots of wierd shiz that normal dvd burners cannot simulate.
The hack bypasses/removes the check of this wierd shiz so 1:1 backups will work.
Go here and follow the links;

The only way that is 'possible' is the man in the middle aproach, get a computer stuck inbetween the client and the host, or the host and the 3rd man (been a while since i've studied this).
But for that to happen somone on the server side needs to be dodgy, or some elite dudes are at it.
But the chance of this happening is not worth worrying about.

Coffeehouse - Opera 9 now Acid2 compliant

i'm a web developer, and the only things that I care about is IE6, and Firefox compatiability. Then if we have time Opera.

But sure this is a good step, 1/3 major browsers performing the switch.
But i still doubt that IE will become Acid 2 compliant, hell it doesnt even follow standards properly, and until IE makes the switch no one will be caring about Acid 2.

Well my i do cleanups around 2ice a month and then they after about a week its just as bad as it was before i cleaned up

The most common problem is tissues, i get hayfever like crazy, and then because i leave the tissues out i get even more hayfever...

The other problem is bowls, right now 3 bowls and 3 spoons from icecream and milo cereal - Oh a box of shapes

Yer sorta like my desktop, i clean it up by making a new folder and dumping everything in there, and a week later its full of crap again

Coffeehouse - Vista - March or April CTP?

Yer thats what I was thinking.

But another person stated;
'This CTP will be consumer based.'

Does this mean it will be like Vista Home, or similiar and not actually the Ultimate Edition.....

But by publicly avaiable does that mean;
non-beta testers can get a copy,
or just a larger amount of beta testers can get it (eg. like WLM8).

Thanks
