  • Robert Fripp - Behind the scenes at Windows Vista recording session

Squeeky chair was in the control room not the sound booth that the amps and speakers were being recorded from. I am doubting the squeeky chair noises made it thru the sound proofed studio walls. I am sure that the Microsoft developers aren't interested in having Eddie and his Brother give someone a heartattack when they click their mouse and trigger an error sound by accident.
  • Robert Fripp - Behind the scenes at Windows Vista recording session

Robert Fripp is not some pop star. Even back when he was with King Crimson, THEY weren't mainstream by any stretch of the imagination. Great players, absolutely. Innovators of sound, he absolutely is. (Name one top 10 hit King Crimson had on the pop chart) He was brought in as a session guy to create a signature sound that will hopefully become an un-intrusive, warm, inviting environment that all users, (Not gamers, Bubblegumers, Metalheads, Punkers, Country etc... exclusive) will be able to tolerate. Not a task for the weak of mind or amateurs who loop samples together and call themselves musicians. Fripp has endured 30 years in a career that is heartless and unforgiving. He is one of maybe 10 or 15 in the world that can be relied on to actually pay to do such a task and get the results that the employer is looking for. He is exactly what is needed for the task. A true artist at sound sculpturing. Fripps music is beyond classification. All you who think you have what it takes I am sure are welcome to contribute to the project... give it a shot. I am sure its a nice paying gig to apply for. 6 hours for a 3 second spot?.... you complainers obviously have never cut a track in your lives... try months for a hit single. (over, and over, and over again, till you can't stand the song one more time, then hear it another thousand times at slammin levels, just to make sure the song is hitting on all cylinders) 6 hours recording session, I would say maybe Fripp got his guitars in the right tuning that he's famous for... thats about it.
