Defrag: Shortcuts, Multimonitor setup, USB Wifi Extender
Oct 18, 2011 at 3:03 PM@windev:I'm curious. Why minimize all windows if you're locking the screen anyway? Just habit?
Defrag: Shortcuts, Multimonitor setup, USB Wifi Extender
Oct 18, 2011 at 1:54 PM[02:41] - What's the hotkey to restore minimized windows.
WIN+D is a toggle for "show/hide desktop" whereas WIN+M is "minimize all windows" and WIN+SHIFT+M is "undo minimize all windows". It is documented at Microsoft, somewhere, although I cannot remember where, was either in Windows 2000 or Windows XP WIN+D was introduced, and where I remember reading the description.
Why anyone would want so use WIN+M / WIN+SHIFT+M, as opposed to toggling with WIN+D is beyond me

[15:55] - Icons rearrange when changing external monitors, can this be prevented?
I don't know if a solution like this already exists. The problem it could be solved if Windows tracked monitor configurations and each configurations windows and icon positions.

Oct 11, 2011 at 5:53 PM[48:12] - Is it possible to not have to log into Windows 7 but still have a lock screen password?
The functionality is built-in, no need for extra tools, it's the Advanced User Accounts controlpanel, which is hidden, so it must be started with the command (just type it in the start menu search field and hit enter): control userpasswords2

New Windows Live Wave 4 Messenger Preview
May 04, 2010 at 4:48 AMLook at my comment. a-patch doesn't remove the ads, it merely hides them. This means buggy flash ads will still crash your messenger.
New Windows Live Wave 4 Messenger Preview
Apr 28, 2010 at 12:31 PMThe worst thing with Messenger right now is that the advertisements at the bottom, especially hugely annoying Flash advertisements that 1) crashes messenger or 2) uses 50% CPU on each core (and crashes Messenger) or 3) makes hugely annoying sounds and goes big and covers other windows when you accidentally hover the mouse over it. And no. Apatch does not solve the Flash crashing Messenger. It only hides the problem, doesn't make it go away.
