Paying income taxes is a problem of having earned income, and that should be a problem that corporations have to deal with just like I do, as somebody who doesn't happened to be in the bottom 50%.</p>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>@<a href="/Forums/Coffeehouse/24-hours-to-Xbox-3#c3f9a9c5779ba482f872da1c5015e8f98">Sven Groot</a>:&nbsp;Nothing beats the gameplay of some of the&nbsp;old&nbsp;school arcade games.&nbsp;I even bought <a href="http://www.xgaming.com/store/arcade-joysticks-and-game-controllers/product/x-arcade-dual-joystick/">this</a> about 10 years ago just so I could play Robotron 2084. At the time, I was disappointed to find out&nbsp;that it couldn't be programmed to have both joysticks used for a single player. Each joystick had to be used for a separate player. But now that I read the description, the newer version can be used for games like Robotron and Crazy Climber. I'm going to have to look into getting the adapter that adds the functionality of the new version. <img src='http://ecn.channel9.msdn.com/o9/content/images/emoticons/emotion-1.gif?v=c9' alt='Smiley' /></p>]]></description>

While Microsoft did make&nbsp;some&nbsp;improvements to Web Forms even recently, the evangelists for MVC spoke of Web Forms in the same self-deprecating way as others in Microsoft speak of IE6 and Windows Vista in order&nbsp;push the new technology.</p><p>However, I'm not exactly sure that the drop in web server market share can be tied&nbsp;directly&nbsp;to the release of ASP.NET MVC.</p>]]></description>

Sales and property taxes also have the benefit of being a lot harder to get around.</p></div></blockquote><p></p><p>I don't understand the point of luxury taxes. Having money socked away by rich people is bad for the economy. Encouraging rich people to spend increases the opportunity for others to benefit from the flow of money. Not to mention it increases sales tax revenues for the local economy.</p><p>Granted, if the purchase of luxury goods only works to shift money back and forth between rich people, that's not such a good thing, but my guess is that there are some $15/hour workers who played a role in manufacturing that Rolls-Royce or Bentley or Maybach.</p><p>OTOH, raising corporate taxes encourages corporations to reinvest to grow revenues organically, since they get a tax write-off. Then this happens, the money circulates to other companies whom said company purchases products and/or services from or to hiring more employees.</p><p>When it&nbsp;becomes easier to make money by just having money, that's when companies just&nbsp;sit on their asses and think of more clever ways of just retaining what they earned.</p>]]></description>

I can imagine it being more hated within the Linux community than Windows 8 is within the Windows community. It seems like a lot of effort to maintain a fork that is still largely based on Ubuntu.</p><p>With Windows 8, you can install a very simple program to get back almost all of the look and feel of Windows 7. You don't have to install a fork of Windows 8 to achieve this.</p>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>@<a href="/Forums/Coffeehouse/PC-sales-are-declining-but-the-PC-isnt-dead-and-its-not-Windows-8s-fault#c2a1ef61d05ab49c5b86ca1c400cc5c39">GoddersUK</a>: Aside from there being no technical reason to upgrade older computers that run fine, newer computers with touch-enabled displays are more expensive than before.</p><p>I imagine that once prices come down on these devices, more and more people will consider purchasing touch-enabled PCs, even as a novelty. I think eventually people will consider touch a requirement rather than a luxury. Then and only then will these older computers that still&nbsp;run perfectly fine&nbsp;start being replaced.</p><p>Touch-enabled PCs is a paradigm shift that might take some time to take hold. 20 years ago, a lot of people were fine not buying Windows&nbsp;because a GUI wasn't considered a necessity, and&nbsp;DOS worked perfectly fine. It wasn't until Windows 95 that people started replacing their DOS machines en masse.</p>]]></description>
