Hi,

I would like to create a script in PowerShell that could backup the system state of a computer running Windows XP, Vista, or 7. Does anyone know some resources that could help me create a script like that?

It will probably be release in 2009 as much as Vista was supposed to be release in 2004.

Personally, Vista is all right to me.

Ok, so legal issues are blocking the Zune to be sold outside of US.

So, what if I ask a friend in the US to buy one for me and he brings it (send it) back to Canada?

Ok, for #8 : did you restart your computer? Some time, the NTuser.dat file stay in memory. You should not log on you destination account before making the copy to.

for #9 : It may be normal that nothing happen : there is no progress bar to indicate the status of the copy. If you have 45 go then let it run. Just check that you hard disk led on you computer flash : that is the only feedback you gonna have. Whene the copy is over, you going to get back to the account selection list.

Easy :

log as you destination user
Reboot (not mandatory but can save some time)

Log as an other admin
Right click on computer
Properties
Advance system parameters
In the user profiles section click on settings
select your user account you want to copy from
click copy to...
click on Browser... and navigate to you destination folder you have create at step 1 (c:\users\my.name.domain)
click the change button in the Permitted to use section and type your domain user account : this will set your permissions
click ok

logoff
logon you domain account
It works

Cool it works. If I close ASP.NET developement server the changes are taken into account.

Not it doesn't work. The same effect. Could it be a Visual Studio bug or a bad configuration

Yes I’m running the Web Developer as administrator. I'll try the cache trick tonight went I'll be back at home

Just in case it could help : If I directly access my web app the change are taken. Like if I go to http://www.MyServeurName.com/WebApp, the first time it's output 2, make the change, save second access it's output 3.

I'm using Windows Vista RC1 and Visual Web Developer 2005 Express SP1 with Vista support files. The user that runs Visual Web is a local admin. The files are on a file share access using a mapped drive. It's work well with XP but not with Vista.

Went I make change to my code in Visual Web Developer 2005 Express, they are not taken into account, like if the change was not made.

For example, I have this code:

protected void Button2_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Response.Output.Write(1 + 1);
}

When I run it, it prints a 2 on my web page. But if I change to code for this:

protected void Button2_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Response.Output.Write(1 + 2);
}

It still prints 2. I need to close Visual Web Developer and restart it for the change to be made.

I saw some screen shot of Phantom Hourglass in Nintendo Power. It's interseting the idea of only using the stylet to move around.

I don't know about Mario Kart DS. I played at the Snes, N64 et GameCube version and they were fun time.

If you have a DS, I suggest you to try Mario & Luigi parner in Time. A good RPG with Mario/Luigi and their baby conterpart.

Well everything that is part of Vista (IE, Windows Mail, WMP etc.). I've install the French language pack (Québec speak French ) and I haven't see anything in English.

Translation seem ok except for Windows Ultimate which is translate as "Windows Intégrale". In English you would say : Windows All-In-One...

I log on my computer this morning and I saw the Windows Update icon on my system tray. I had 5 optionals update. Yep, it was the Language Packs.

It's really refreshing to see Windows in your native language.

I'm gonna buy a new computer once Vista is generally avalaible because :

1) My computer is old (can run Vista fine but I got it in 2002)
2)I want to take adventage of all the new technologies of Vista (ReadyBoost, Aero)
3) My computer is a X86

I'm going to turn my current computer into a File/AD/Web server.

I'm going to plan how to buy Windows Vista Buisness for my mother (her computer have to connect to my AD domain and ultimate may not be the best solution + there is allways Windows Anytime Upgrade:D). I think I will be able to move her 3-4 month after Vista Release to public

Finally : Upgrading my Tablet PC (Memory) + buying Vista Ultimate (upg or full?)

edit: A fogot to tell that I'm gonna get Office 2007 too. And my mother just love it (Using the beta because I decided so )

Technical people trying to think like no-technical people. I use Vista every day and I almost never see UAC. I never see it so much that sometime a check to see if it still working.
