This is my new Forum topic. Every week instead of posting multiple days on multiple topics I will post only once every Sunday. I will do what I call "The week in review".

Steelers vs the cardinals. I predict the steelers will win. The Steelers are the Linux community, the Cardinals are Microsoft. The Cardinals dont stand a chance.

Microsoft to lay off 5000. Red Hat has no layoffs, Apple has no layoffs. Microsoft is having to cut its work force. How soon before our beloved Channel 9 goes "off air" and all the staff wind up working at Red Hat, Apple or Google. Only time will tell. PaolaM will wind up at Novell working Under Miguel on Beagle

The channel9 endorsed distro, PC/OS goes back to its "Be roots" BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. The failure fails again. rj doesnt stand a chance and PC/OS stands as much of a chance as Windows 7 being successful.

Windows 7 UAC hacked. I guess somethings never change.

WORLD ALERT!!!! BREAKING NEWS!!!!! Jamie from Channel9 fame and a huge supporter of Microsoft is fed up with Windows 7 and Im sure he is contemplating a change. Jamie, my suggestions, Mac OS X or gNewSense.

KDE 4.2 released. The worst desktop in the Open Source community gets a major update. It still sucks, just not as much as it did.

Next week Im sure we will have more news and more breaking news. So until the day the FSF buys Microsoft and Open Sources Windows, I will be here.

Like Windows 7 and its Mac interface and Linux killer MinWin proved to be a failure, so did another Microsoft backed system. rj announced on his distro page that he will quit developing his distro. I wont mention the name to not raise his Google ranking. This just proves I am right, go ahead and say it. Microsoft should take a note from their failed investment. Windows doesnt bring anything to this industry and development should cease and desist . Microsoft should leave it to the pro's to deliver OS's. So good luck to rj and his failures and 2009 is the year of the Linux desktop.

This is the final nail in the coffin. Earlier the FSF filed a lawsuit against Cisco Systems for violating the GPL and LGPL licenses. So whats this the final nail for? Who is the culprit? mr. PCOS, Roberto J. Dohnert himself is a contractor for Cisco Systems and works in their Unix division. I confirmed this. So I would like for mr. PCOS himself to explain how as a linux distributor how he allowed his company to violate the GPL and LGPL, a group that he works in.

This is the proof that its a Microsoft sposored distro and that Mr. PCOS himself is not worthy to distribute Linux in any way shape or form.

I copied this verbatim to his forums as well.

My recommendation is this: use another distro. gNewSense is superior in every way.

when you turn on the TV it is Barack Obama this, Barack Obama that. Barack Obama.

Now, online, go to Linux.com, its PCOS this, PCOS that the reviewer thinks PCOS is the best distro since sliced butter. I am getting tired of hearing Barack Obama, Im tired of hearing about PCOS. There are 3 people in my LUG who use PCOS. I want one reviewer to just blast PCOS so that rj and his crew just give up. Its driving me crazy.

Who here has used rj's worthless distro?

I didnt kill myself but I have kept up with the times. I love the fact that Microsoft was called out on Infoworld about Windows 7 being Windows Vista with a new theme. No performance enhancements have been made and as I suspected you will need 2 gig of RAM and will still likely need to remortgage your home to buy it. Trying to resell yesterdays technology is worthless. Keep funding rj's distro PCOS, thats the way to go Microsoft.

The time has come. Tomorrow it comes down to two men. Not Linus Torvalds and Bill Gates. It comes down between John McCain and Barack Obama. The two would be presidents of the United States. So who is ready to lead? Well lets take a look at their records.

Barack Obama: 2 years in senate

Not much of a record

John McCain: Multi Year senator, military experience, key in several critical senate votes, friend of open source and technology. He has served his country with honor and dignity, a true american hero and he puts his country first. As John F. Kennedy said "Ask not what your country can do for you, what can YOU do for your country"

"Vote for Change" may be a change that you dont want. If this country is attacked again and Obama is in the seat he has no experience and that will make the situation worse.

So my brothers in tech, dont use the part of your brain that made you choose Microsoft Windows over Mac or Linux.

Make the right choice. Choose Honesty, Integrity, Experience. Use your votes wisely and Vote McCain/Palin 2008.

I pray that God will give you all the wisdom and the steady hand at the voting booths tomorrow.

To get Bloggers to say nice things about Windows 7, Microsoft is letting bloggers and tech writers keep test systems with Windows 7 so that they will issue glowing reviews. This according to OSS watchdog Steven J Vaughn-Nichols. Several non-biased bloggers and commenters claim Windows 7 to be worse than Windows Vista and a blatent ripoff of KDE 4.

Now that software patents have been invalidated hopefully Windows will go the way of OS/2 Warp.

As President McCain said months ago, take away the crowds and take away the cheers and the only thing you have left is a man with nothing but talk. Now that the campaigning has started who have you heard the most from? Who has stated their position clearly? Who is truly going to work for all americans regardless of race or creed? That one man is President John McCain and his female counterpart Vice President Sarah Palin.

What have you heard from Barack Obama? Absolutely nothing. Whats his position on the economy? Whats his position in outsourcing? Look at YouTube. The only thing you hear about Obama is how everybody thinks he is a great guy. Oh and he paid some guy to upload a video on how the polls are rigged for President McCain. If his own party doesnt stand behind him how good can he possibly be. Now look at President McCain's section, you hear about his experience and you hear what he will do.

President McCain is the obvious choice, if you choose Obama you are voting for the wrong guy.

rj from C9 created a GNU/Linux distribution that was amongst other things stupid, unoriginal and just illegal as it includes proprietary software. While the thing should have died he is now listed on Distrowatch, Linux Journal did a write up on him and looking at his pathetic freebie forums he now has an official 83 users. This is a complete outrage.

Tuesday I will shoot off an e-mail to Distrowatch calling for an official delisting and I will be contacting the FSF and reporting this Microsoft sponsored distro. Just as I boycotted SUSE and Novell I will boycott rj's distro.

As always remember people who care about computers dont use Windows and anyone who cares about GNU/Linux should not use rj's distro. Real Linux users use gNewSense.

Im surprised, yet not, that no one has mentioned this.

Vista is the new ME and when the details of this exploit are made public, Microsoft and Windows are finally done for. get those Ubuntu or OpenSUSE CD's ready, its the only way you will be computing.

Apple is suing Psystar the maker of the open computer. This just shows, you cant trust a proprietary software company. Psystar should have bundled gNewSense or even Ubuntu.

The second event strikes close to home. A niner is featured in Linux Journal. rj's illegal distro was in Linux Journal. I cant believe they wasted their time and my bandwidth. My question is how much did Microsoft pay rj to infect the GNU/Linux world.

I wrote to Psystar and offered to help them certify gNewSense on their hardware. As for rj, I urge everyone not to consider his M$ sponsored distro and I have written the FSF and OSI on the legality of his "product"

Well, victory at last. Best Buy is selling Ubuntu, I guess they saw how successful our giveaway was when Vista was released. rj's distro is dead, I have been watching and participating in his forums. A laughable attempt, but a failure nonetheless. Rory Blythe has been silenced. Linux has a higher marketshare than Windows vista so its safe to say I was correct in every way. All of the Linux communities enemies have been fallen. Stallmans vision shall know world domination.

Robert Cringley wrote a great article on the failures of Windows and Vista. His predictions are that the Windows platform is done for. I agree. Microsoft in their best day couldnt beat Google, Windows is so unreliable the Department of Homeland Security says not to use it and Microsofts competitors products Ubuntu, Mandriva 2008 and Mac OS X are light years ahead of what Windows Vista could ever hope to be.

Goodbye Microsoft, you are now obsolete.

SJVN on Linux-watch has a report from cnn money that proves how inadaquate and useless Windows is in big internet companies. Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo because M$ knows Vi$ta and Windows is a dead platform. Its good to see that professionals see the writing on the wall. The guy has a point.
