Ha ha. No I am not still there, I mean i never left Microsoft or my team. I just worked over there for 3 months.
No comments on the data centers....
I am happy to say that people I spoke to were very open to the idea of Azure. Many had no idea though that we even care about OSS/PHP the stacks they care about.

Oct 10, 2012 at 7:41 PM@imgen Azure is available in China though there are no data centers located in PRC. There are dcs however in Hong Kong which is very nearby. The signup experience though to use those DCs in Hong Kong is not at all ideal.

Preview 5 is much more stable than our previous releases. As far as when our RTM will be, our plan is to ship V1 along with the rest of the web stack (MVC 4 etc) next April.
